I'm so confused by these reviews saying the donuts are the best they've ever had. Have these people actually ever had donuts before? Or are they trying to rationalize the amount of money they just blew on it? Would love to hear what makes these donuts good compared to other places (re:every donut shop in the area). I've tried this place so many times over the past ~decade to prove myself wrong, but am disappointed every time. The sliders are okay. Should really drop the "donuts" from the name.
Stale school cafeteria bread rolls with a hole in them are not donuts. The toppings do not make up for the flavorless and sugarless dough used. And there is waaaay too much overworked dough. Even the filled ones, like the bananas foster, are not nearly filled enough. If going decadent and overpriced, then go all the way!
In fact, too much salt is used instead. The chocolate chip cookies? Too much salt. The salted caramel donut? Sea salt glaze. Salt is important for bringing out sweetness, but it is a very delicate balancing act, and it seems District lacks the finesse needed.
As I noted earlier, the sliders and burgers are okay, but overpriced. But if you want sweets, then go somewhere else; you will not...

Sadly, you should stay away from this location. I’ve been there twice over the span of three months and each time there’s been major issues.
This last time (Monday November 4th) was the last straw. I ordered the Smokey Bird but ended up being given The Rooster. I didn’t say anything as there’s no reason to waste food and my experience thus far was going okay. The sandwich was great.

They - I kid you not- rolled their eyes, scoffed loudly, looked at their dirty gloves, removed them, got the box, looked me in my eyes and said “you’re welcome” before I could even say thank you. She was so rude I couldn’t even react.

This delightful spot not only serves up some of the most delicious burgers in the city but also a rotating selection of inventive donuts that keeps you coming back for more. On my latest visit, I indulged in the spring beignet donut filled with an exquisite coffee mousse and a cream cheese-filled berry glazed donut. Both offerings were beyond phenomenal, perfectly capturing the essence of spring with their freshness and innovative flavors.
