I hate to write this review, being that Juan's is one of my favorite places in New Orleans. But I guess its true what they say, different locations, different results. Ok well for starters I ordered a big bowl and street tacos for lunch. The tacos were ok, but the big bowl was not the same I had before on multiple occasions, (from Juan's on magazine). I ordered over the phone with a bartender and she was very polite and patient with taking my order, because I did have a lot of special requests. I didn't check my food once picked up because I honestly never had a bad experience with Juan's, and I trusted that my food would be great. (Like Juan's on magazine st. ) always is. Got all the way back to work which is Downtown New Orleans, went to eat my food and noticed it was all wrong, everything that I asked not to be there, was on there and then some extra, smh. I called the restaurant and again the bartender, was very polite and patient, and asked if I would like to talk to the GM. well, the GM whose name is Ben got on the phone with a attitude, asked me what I ordered and everything I said was wrong, he justified as to why my food was like that, and told me if I looked at the menu better than I did, so I would know what to order. He did not hear me out, he was constantly rude to me on the phone and in person, omg in person was even worse. I asked him what is the reason he is interrogating me, about the food that I paid for and was wrong, he said "you called me" I said that is what I'm suppose to do being that your are in management. I have never experienced a person so nonchalant about their position, you can tell he doesn't care for this company, and for him I will never come back to Juan's in Mid City. and I still was late getting back to work, and my order still wasn't right. Good Luck with having...
Read moreMy husband and I order takeout from this location often, and have dined in on a couple of occasions. Last night we decided to eat at the bar instead of bringing our meals home with us. Upon taking our seats, the female bartender (dark, curly hair) instead of greeting us quickly, took her time entering her credit card tips into the computer, and eventually turned around and asked if we needed menus. We ordered our drinks (a margarita & a ginger beer) ... and I was presented with the can of ginger beer, unopened & without any glass or ice (which I had to request). We also ordered some chips and queso. While we sat at the bar we watched a bartender (male, red-ish hair & beard) pour several shots of tequilla for the staff, all who gathered by the service bar well, and then drank the shots. Then the male bartender spoke to us & announced that he "needed a drink" & we watched him poured himself a drink in a pint glass that contained enough alcohol to almost fill the glass completely. We were never asked if we wanted to order our meals & my husband had to grab someone's attention by asking to order. The male bartender (who was somewhat intoxicated) took our order & admitted he was having trouble remembering it because he was "ADD". The chips & queso arrived and about half of the basket of chips were crumbs that couldn't be dipped or eaten. We were never offered more chips. When the food arrived, one of the orders was incorrect (supposed to come without grilled onions) and it was loaded with onions. We were so annoyed with the lack of service or attention to customers that we simply picked out the onions and ate what we could. Don't go to this Juan's location. The staff is a mess & there is no management to be...
Read moreNothing impressive. I was really hoping to find decent Tex-Mex here. Though this restaurant doesn't claim to be Tex-Mex, it's got quite the Tex-Mex menu. I live close by so I was really hoping to make it one of my usual places. I ordered an alcoholic drink and it was sub-par. It just tasted like tequila, which I love, but if I want shots I'll order shots. I ordered the "Siesta" but it tasted like ranch water. I really like ranch water but I didn't order a ranch water.
I got the western burrito and it was missing most of the ingredients the menu said it would come with. Plus, I asked for pinto beans to be added to my burrito and it did not include the pinto beans. That's not a big deal, though. It could have still tasted good without the pinto beans (I'm pretty sure they charged me for the pinto beans but I didn't even fuss about it because I just wanted to get the heck out of there already). The burrito was not good at all. The steak was bland and very tough. The burrito was 70% peppers and 30% steak with a sad sprinkling of cheese. It was so bad it hurts to remember.
My partner got a chicken quesadilla. The server recommended he get the large as it comes with more filling, but it was not really filled out nicely. At least the chicken in that quesadilla was actually good. Flavorful and tender.
The lemonade was good. The server was friendly. The service there was quite good, overall. Nice people. We ordered the queso and chips. The queso was not bad, but not impressive. Not returning to this place unless someone is paying my meal for me... but then I don't know what I'll order. This was such a waste of money. It was only $40 for two people, but...
