Rendezvous Tavern — Restaurant in New Orleans

Ahhh Rendezvous I had some really great times here before and right after Katrina. This was a super popular place where I used to know the majority of people in the bar. Unfortunately the crowd has shifted and I rarely know anybody in this place anymore and it has gotten a whole lot less fun in here. They do keep the A/C at a nice cool temp and keep it nice dank and dark (the way I often like my dive bars to be). They also have some pretty good specials on beer and the bartenders are usually very on top of things with good service. They used to offer FREE Nirvana Indian food on Sundays here but they don't do that anymore and Nirvana doesn't even do their buffet anymore so both joints just seem way less than they used...

My Girlfriend and I were in NOLA with her family for a mini vacation when we happened upon Rendezvous. We were riding by in our (anonymous ride share app) while on our way home another spot. As soon as I saw white shirts, unbuttoned vests, undone bow ties, and tall cans of PBR. I knew it was an (restaurant) industry bar and seeing as I’m in the industry, we HAD TO GO. Long story short, we drank the coldest PBR cans, people watched super hard, and shared fernet branca handshakes with the most hospitable bartenders this side of the quarter. Lots of beers availble. Great crowd but it can get a little tight and distracting while playing pool. There is a long antique looking bar just too few bartenders manning it. There's a decent outdoor sitting area with tables and chairs for the smokers. There's even food though the menu is limited to one or two items. They have one pool table and two dartboards I believe. There's very little curbside parking so might end up having to park on one of the side streets and taking a hike...
