This is an eclectic restaurant with great food and service. They have indoor , outdoor and bar seating. The vibe is very casual and welcoming. The chef came out and went to several tables asking how the food was. For me that shows their love for what they do and makes for a great experience. I have been wanting to come here to try the pimento cheese sandwich and didn’t know it was only on the lunch menu and not the dinner menu. They made it for me anyway which is above and beyond what they needed to do and truly appreciated. It was worth the wait. The bread was crunchy and golden brown and the cheese was delicious. Came with chips that were also very good. The fried cauliflower was totally unexpected. Crunchy on the outside cooked to perfection on the inside with a nice heat from the jelly and creamy relief from the sauce on the bottom. I would go back again just for this. The beet salad also very good. Refreshing and just the right amount of blue cheese that was in very small pieces so it added a great tang to every bite but was not overpowering the other flavors. The duck pastrami sandwich is also a must try and probably can’t find it anywhere else. I have to try grits when they are in any menu, these were very good, nicely seasoned and had a bite to them. The chocolate cream cheese turnover was rich but the best part was the flaky crunchy pastry. Lemon buttermilk cheesecake also a nice dessert. The tang of the lemon gives relief to an otherwise rich dessert and it was extremely creamy. I will definitely return to try several other options on the menu.

Lovely spot! I’ve been wanting to take my foodie grandmother here, and we finally went for brunch/lunch. The menu was great, and we really liked all the food. Bbq shrimp was delicious with a nice spiciness, crab cake benedict special was rich and tasty, and all the sides and drinks were good too. The staff was wonderful. I believe our server was Peggy, who was attentive but seemed just a little bit impatient. The hostess was very kind when we realized my grandmother had forgotten her vaccination card at home, and they pushed back our reservation for us while we went back for it. I really appreciated the COVID precautions like masks, card checks, and spaced-out tables — makes eating out with a elderly person a bit more comfortable. The building is adorable with a gorgeous patio, and I love that it’s a little bit off-the-beaten-path. My grandmother raved about how much she enjoyed this meal. Such a gem!

It's a cute little place. The decor is relaxed. The staff is friendly. The food is... ok. I'm sad to say I wasn't impressed. I had the fried chicken thigh with mac•n•cheese and greens. The mac was a disappointment, the cheese was grainy not creamy. The chicken thigh was deep fried and it was tasty with a spicy honey sauce drizzled on it. The greens were bitter and vinegar-y. My hubby had the coushon poboy. It came with slaw ontop and it also was vinegar-y. Hubby liked the bloody Mary, spicy with crab boil, horseradish and garnished with pickled green beans & pickled okra. I did not like the mimosa too bitter. The drinks were a brunch special @$4 each. I wanted to like this place more than I did. Maybe just for drinks and apps next time.....

We met here for my sister's birthday brunch. We are a family, including a 20 month old son. The high chairs were worn out and looked old and dirty, the host said they keep them outside. No kids menu, quite frankly I would say it is not kid friendly at all. To be completely honest, the food was pretty good. It's really about the portions. Comically small. The whole experience just felt us wanting more. The bloody Mary was small. No real taste of vodka. The bacon on our egg plate was mini, or cut into smaller pieces. My 12 year old ordered the banana pancakes, each pancake was single bite sized. Quite frankly we got home and immediately started cooking food. It is possible this type of restaurant is simply not for me, but entrees should not be appetizer or side dish sized. Please keep this in mind when/if you decide to go have a small snack at this establishment.

Response to owner- it was 2 pieces. So that means 1 piece cut in half. Exactly what we thought. That's really is disappointing.

As politely as possible, I don't see myself bringing my family back. We go out to a family dinner once a week, and we want to leave with full bellies. The fact that when we got home the first thing my wife did was go to the stove to make us more food will be a tough memory to move on from. We've only lived in New orleans a few months now, and there are alot of really good options to choose from. What's my incentive to give one spot a second chance? There...

I had heard so many amazing things about this place, I was thrilled to go with a group of serious foodies, because I expected a top-tier experience and a great conversation about the food. However, my experience (and I speak for others) was a bit discouraging, because I think the server (and possibly the kitchen) was having a tough night.

What went wrong? Our server was slow, erratic, confusing, disengaged, and often just snarky. He brought a a wrong drink to one of us. He brought extra drinks without them being ordered, which irked the other server (or bartender?) who brought the drinks. He disappeared for long stretches of time. He said "you can just sit there" when I asked for the cheque, and then dropped the check on the table and left. I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny, but several of us were dumbfounded.

Food service was slow. We were there from 6-9, and it probably took thirty minutes to get drinks and an hour to get our mains from when we ordered them.

On the plus side, overall the food quality was good. The cauliflower appetizer stood out. My wife's BBQ shrimp and my drum were on point. The building and ambiance are fascinating. So all in all the experience was mixed, but I look forward to trying it again, because I'm not going to give up on it over one...
