Pub style atmosphere with sports on the TV's. Could be a Cheers type but the bathroom is dreadful. We ate out on the back patio and you have to go into the bar and order from a small hole in the wall. They give you a vibration gizmo to have to know when to go back in to pick up your phone. So basically self-serve. My Nachos were drowning in Jalapeno juice and were dry and cracked. And whole-hella drenched in Salt. Could almost hear my blood pressure rising. The other people's food was fine but gave them problems later if you know what I mean. I wouldn't go back here except maybe for some pool and a beer. Food is not their main draw I suppose. It wasn't busy for a Saturday. We did park there in front of the Cable car turnaround which is right in front of the restaurant and got an Uber to Bourbon Street. A "Meh" level experience and nothing to write home about and barely much to write about on Google. Sorry people this place is a bust on the Cindy's curses scale.

The Bulldog is a Lakeview gem. Its right across the street from the cemetaries and next to Mid City. They have like 40 beers on tap, good wifi, and lots of tables. They also have shuffleboard. The patio is huge as well. It's not covered but they do have heaters and fans out there. There's one couch if you want to cuddle, but otherwise the tables inside are a mix of high tops and low tops. Beers are reasonably priced, and the music is usually solid but not too loud to have a conversation.

If you ever need a beer, a really good cold beer, come to @bulldog_midcity, you will be pleased. I had the Blackened Voodoo one, a smooth and yummy black beer. Thanks to my French @meetup I found this really cool, great atmosphere and fun place. Merci beaucoup #TheBulldogMidCity for a beautiful night under the stars. #MidCity #NOLA #Beer #Relax #Friendship #French #UnaOrocoveñaEnNewOrleans #UnaBoricuaEnLouisiana

This was a terrible experience. I posted previously about it but it seems like it was removed. I would never recommend this to someone local or from out of town. At one point this was a great place but every time I try to give them another chance I am severely disappointed. So if I could give a 0 then I would.

We went and ordered a beer and some sets of cheese fries. They were out of their waffle fries so I said sure, straight fries with cheese are fine. Why did I get charged for 4 sets of the specialty waffle fries with cheese and bacon and sauce? I didn’t ask for that, I wasn’t given that order. I was given straight fries with cheese and nothing else to top it. But I was charged $14 for an order of fries with cheese that should have cost no more than $6. When I tried to make sense of it and explain it to the waitress/bartender/host all I got was, “well you ordered our specialty cheese fries.” No I didn’t. You didn’t have the waffle fries of the bacon…I ordered a small straight fries with cheese. Should be $3 fries with $3 cheese topping. In what world does a small order with cheese cost $14 when and order of straight fries cost $3. The small amount of cheese that your kitchen staff put on my fries, with no bacon or sauce, does not constitute a charge of $11 extra! Then, We had to wait, the fries were dry and lukewarm before they got to us, the cheese had solidified and stuck to the paper plate so we got paper mixed in with our cheese. Gross. Asked for the manager twice. The manager didn’t want to come out and talk to us about it and the staff refused to do anything about it and just said that the manager was busy. We stayed for over an hour, manager never set foot on the floor. Pathetic... So for the 4 orders of $3 fries i ordered for the table, I got to pay 4 x $14= $56!!! For fries!!! Never again. Never ever again. The manager doesn’t care, the staff talks about inappropriate stuff at the bar instead of helping customers in a timely fashion and the food is terrible. The last burger I got there was a spicy hockey puck. The beer all tastes the same because they never seem to clean their taps. My ipa shouldn’t taste like Abita Amber and vice versa the Amber shouldn’t taste like a Stout! If i could give a recurring 0 as a recommendation, I would. The fact that the manager didn’t care or try to reach out to me about this at any point further tells me that they just don’t care. It’s no wonder that they are never busy and losing customers. We should have had excellent service. We were one of two sets of customers there. Why was our experience such a terror show? Still can’t believe those fries were so terrible and I was forced to pay so much for trash. Still can’t believe the manager refused to talk with us or visit our table to do anything about the issue. I had guests from out of town and was made to feel like a joke because of the experience. Awful time. Truly not a place to go if you want to show off New Orleans to anyone. 0 out of 0 out of 0....

This used to be one of my all time favorite bars in the city. Not so much anymore. I come less and less often, and everytime I do come it seems to get worse. The food has gone way downhill. They don't seem to keep the taps clean anymore, that or several of the kegs had turned. Kegs hooked to wrong taps, etc. Things a craft beer bar shouldn't struggle with. The food is disappointing and has gotten ridiculous in pricing. The cook today was slow af and messed up every order. Gave my friend attitude when they asked for the dressing for their salad and said she didn't know where it was. We got a quesadilla with no cheese and nachos with very minimal unmelted cheese. Took about 30mins... even for the salad. The courtyard used to be nice and lush, well manicured, with plenty of seating. Now there is less seating, less plants, no fountain...oh, and it smells like garbage! I was hoping I'd get used to it after a while, but no, it's strong and there's nowhere on the patio to get away from it. I'll always appreciate that I can bring my pooch here, but I miss the days when this bar was actually...

The Bulldog is a clean and spacious bar with an array of beers on tap. The food menu is pretty extensive and diverse for a bar. One can always appreciate that.

I purchased a house margarita. It was bad. The glass and beverage was room temperature, no salt around the rim of the glass, and the mix used in it was pretty bad. The cost of it was $6.50. Sadly, not worthy of that much.

I tried the mushroom onion burger and an order of seasoned waffle cut fries. The fries were the pre-seasoned variety, which is never good at any spot. The burger had zero seasoning on it, though it was visually appealing. I'd like to know if this burger is made in-house or frozen. It wasn't good.

The service was fine and the bathrooms were clean and had more than one stall (a great thing).

I am willing to try The Bulldog one more time to decide to if this is a spot I'd like to hangout at only due to atmosphere and service. I'm slightly forgetting that I am paying for food and beverages as well.

No photos of the food as my phone died.

I can't recommend this spot yet, but I can't suggest anyone not...
