After finding several other Asian restaurants either closed or by reservation only, because it was Christmas Day, we stumbled across the Sake. Feeling both hungry and adventurous, in we went, and promptly got a table. It’s a stylish if slightly dated decor, but perfect for a Japanese cafe. We are not big fans of sushi but noticed the menu had plenty of other options. It was pretty busy but our server, Quicha, brought water immediately and we ordered drinks. It’s a quiet but lively atmosphere, great for conversation. We ordered the Rock Shrimp Tempura and the portion was surprisingly large and extremely hot. The shrimp were delicious! I ordered beef teriyaki entree which came with a small salad and rice. As you can hear and see in the video, it came to the table sizzling hot. The teriyaki was outstanding - not too sweet as I often find in most restaurants. The rice was perfect, and equally hot. My husband got udon with shrimp and it was delicious. Because it was Christmas, they had many takeout orders, so we noticed a delay bringing our food, but Quicha did what any experienced server would do - she explained, apologized, kept us in drinks, and told them to stop accepting takeout orders so she could serve her customers better. Whether you love sushi or not, this cafe is a sure bet if you like Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended.

Hmmm, where do I start? I’ve been to another Sake Cafe location and wasn’t impressed, but figured I’d give this location a try since someone suggested it for happy hour. I’ll start with the positive things: free and ample parking, beautiful restaurant interior, nice ambiance, and amazing service! Now on to the food. I had the chicken spring rolls, crunchy roll and pan seared dumplings. They had some great happy hour specials, but everything tasted meh. I was expecting more of a flavor explosion in my mouth and a couple of pieces of avocado in my crunchy roll were starting to turn brown. It was only $4, so I didn’t eat it. It was interesting that they only had low sodium soy sauce. I think if I had the regular soy sauce, it could have helped some. The value was good for the price, but this place isn’t for me.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner here at the Sake Cafe uptown. The place offers patio dining, a great bar seating area, indoor fine dining, and sushi bar seating. We opted for a table indoors and were treated to excellent service from start to finish. We started off with a drinks. I selected from their cocktail list and my girlfriend selected a nice sauvignon blanc from their well rounded wine list. We shared a delicious Ahi tuna and goat cheese appetizer and shared several of their specialty rolls as an entree. The food took just the right amount of time to come out, we even had just enough of a break before dessert to be ready to finish it! Everything was great, the quality of the food was impressive. I would recommend this place with a high degree of confidence!

Terrible service, hidden charges, poor customer service.

I recently dined in this restaurant with a group of 9. Although we were a large group there were only 2 other tables that had guests. There seemed to be only one waitress. once we received our food, she was so quick to drop everything off that she never asked if we had everything. We were missing items for our order. Then my husband ordered more food because his portion was so tiny. the entire group ate and we waited over 25 minutes and he still hadn’t received his food. We had someone leave the table to go find our waitress who was blatantly playing games on our phone, asked where his food was and jumped up to put it in. She had the nerve to say the chefs were backed up. Like I said there was only 2 other tables that had guests. I asked if we could get it removed because of how late it took, and she said he received it and the chefs were backed up. I still had missing items, my husbands food was so late we were literally asking for the check and waiting on his two pieces of food he ordered. Also the menu specials listed are false advertising. They list a 2 roll special for $17.50. They charge you $28. This goes for all their items, they increased all the charges but not the menu. Also on their menu it says groups over 6 people will be charged a gratuity rate of 18% the receipt has 20% as the charge. They are literally adding $20-30 extra per guest And then when you address it they are not helpful and just say that is what the charge is. This is a big tourist place and I just want other people to get ripped off. Inflation is bad enough without restaurants trying to add additional fees. This is not how you value your customers or represent your brand as a company. Deceitful, unprofessional, do...

I am truly shocked by the experience I had last night. I have been eating at Sake for 12+ years. I have dealt with sub par service but love their sushi and that’s why I kept going. But I don’t think I will ever go again because of the waitress who served my friend and I last night. After ordering our appetizers, which she came to pick up at some point, she never came back to take our main order. We waited, in silence with our menus closed for over 20+ minutes while she sat down in a chair by the bar playing a game on her phone. At some point a waiter passed by and asked if we were okay and we politely said yes we would just like to place an order. He then called over the waitress who began to lecture us that in order for her to come take our order, we have to ask her to come over and take it, she said she was waiting on us. I was completely shocked at her tone and the fact that she was acting like we wasted her time. If that’s not bad, she then proceeded to walk away and slam/throw our menus down. When she came to fill our waters she did the exact same thing with the water pitcher.

I can take a lot because I know it is long and difficult days in the service industry but she had no reason to be as rude and condescending as she was. I honestly would go as far to say that was the worst restaurant experience I have ever...
