The location was nice, however, the staff was not friendly, nor welcoming. We felt like the staff couldn't care less whether we were staying there or not. The girl on the night shift on two occasions, was sitting on the couch, on her phone, and did not even look up, or acknowledge us when we returned for the night. We were greeted by a young man on two other nights though. We chose this hotel because it boasted friendly, helpful staff. We found this not to be the case. Standing in the lobby on at least two occasions, our group was looking at the street car map trying to figure out which car to take and where to go to eat. No one offered any assistance with the street car schedule or suggestions on where to go. In text messages sent to me by the hotel, it was stated the helpful staff would assist with plans. No such help was offered to us.
We had an issue with parking when we first arrived at the hotel at about 4:00 p.m. There was no parking available. We were told the hotel shares the parking with another business and parking would be available after 10:30 p.m. when the venue's event would be over. Fortunately, a man overheard the conversation, and offered to move his car so we could park. Turns out he worked at No-le. Otherwise, we would have been left without parking until late at night. No resolution was offerd by hotel staff. We left our car parked for the duration of our stay for fear we would not have a parking space upon our return. This was very inconvenient and did not allow us to see parts of the city that required a car.
Our room, although spacious, was not clean. There was a used washcloth still hanging on the shower head, along with hairs on the shower floor. The counter top was dirty as well. My husband went to use another wash cloth, but it was dirty and had makeup or some other dirt on it. One bath towel was dirty, and another had long black hairs on it. We were so disappointed in the lack of cleanliness in the bathroom. Additionally, there was very little toilet paper left on the roll thevday we checked in. Not much effort had been made in cleaning our room. As stated on the sign in the bathroom, housekeeping service would be provided after the third night. Our room was never serviced. Throughout the hotel was a very unpleasant deordorizer smell from a deodorizer being sprayed around.
After finding the used washcloth in the shower, I replied to one of the hotel's text messages asking how our stay was. I asked who I would speak to regarding our stay being a disappointment and the response was a manager would be in the following day. We never heard from anyone regarding my inquiry.
The TV had four spots burned into the screen which made it very difficult to view the screen content.
Upon returning to the hotel in the evening, there is a strong smell of urine out front. There was also human feces on the ground in front of the sidewalk planters in front of the hotel. The feces remained there all day, and was still there when we returned later that night. There were at least two homeless people sleeping next to the hotel. This made us feel not very safe.
This could be a very nice hotel if the proper people were greeting guests and there was some quality control when it comes...
Read moreA quick summary for anyone who doesn't want to read the whole review: Our room was filthy, months worth of grime in the shower, as well as other issues. Our concerns were never fully resolved in our 3 night stay. Don't stay here.
We arrived at this hotel after a long 12-hour drive, completely exhausted and just looking for a clean place to rest. Unfortunately, what we got was far from acceptable. When we first entered the room, we noticed the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. We tried to let it go, hoping it was just a small oversight, but things quickly went downhill from there.
When I went to take a shower, I was appalled to find dried body wash and shampoo splattered across the shower walls, along with layers of grime, as well as someone's hair in the shower. It was immediately clear that the shower hadn't been cleaned in a very long time — it was absolutely filthy.
I reported the issue to the front desk the next morning. The staff member said she would speak to housekeeping but offered no apology or concern. When we returned later that evening, nothing had changed. In fact, we also found a dirty cup with someone else’s drink still sitting in the room's fridge. I went back to the front desk to report our concerns and was told that housekeeping was gone for the day and nothing could be done until the morning.
The next morning, housekeeping knocked on our door, and I politely asked one of the staff members to take a look at the shower so she could see the issue for herself. She assured me it would be cleaned. I also showed photos to the front desk — only then did I finally receive an apology and another promise that it would be addressed.
When we returned that night, the shower had been partially cleaned. One and a half walls had been wiped down — the rest still caked in grime. At this point, I was completely disgusted. The total lack of cleanliness and follow-through was unacceptable and disturbing.
After we checked out, I contacted the third-party site I had booked through and was able to receive a partial refund — which helped, but honestly did not make up for the experience. The state of the room left me wondering what else isn’t being cleaned at this hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness is the absolute bare minimum, and this property failed on every front.
I've read the owner's responses to other reviews like mine, so I'll address what they're going to say in advance... Why didnt we report the concerns the night we arrived? Like I said, we were on the road for 12 hours, we had a ton of luggage that we brought up to our room (we were moving, so had a lot of stuff), and we didnt realize how truly dirty the room was until around 10PM, at which point we really just needed sleep. Additionally, I can speak from my experience from the following day - the front desk would not have helped us with anything that...

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. And I don’t say that lightly.
We checked in early and were greeted warmly by the manager—honestly the only solid moment in this entire stay. Things went downhill fast.
First red flag: the elevator was filthy. Smudges, fingerprints, and grime covered the mirrored walls. When we got to our room, we were stuck inside due to a storm. As we sat there, I started noticing how bad it really was.
The room was nasty. • Stains on the carpet, furniture, doors, and walls. • Thick dust everywhere—lamps, tables, window ledges. • Microwave and fridge clearly hadn’t been cleaned.
Then there was the bathroom. • Spit on the faucet. • Hair and grime on the shower floor. • Toilet base and floor were filthy. • No soap, just a few towels thrown in. Under the sink was dusty and dirty too. It looked like someone half-prepped the room and quit.
We reported the issues after the rain stopped, and were told we should’ve said something sooner. Fair, but we were stuck inside due to the weather and just wanted to rest.
A staff member offered to move us, but by the time we got back from dinner—with cleaning supplies we had to buy ourselves—she was gone and the front desk was empty. So yes, I cleaned the bathroom and room myself—dusting, wiping down walls, scrubbing the bathroom.
In fairness, someone from the cleaning staff came the next day and cleaned the bathroom again. It wasn’t much better, but at least it was touched. Everything else in the room? Still dirty. Nothing else was addressed.
To make it worse, the next morning a member of the cleaning crew confronted my husband, rudely asking what was wrong with our room. Totally inappropriate. Later, the woman at the front desk (also part of the cleaning staff) acted offended when we calmly explained the situation. The assistant manager stepped in—she smiled, acknowledged the issue, and gave us a free night. But no clean room, no solution.
The rest of the experience? • Our room was next to the elevator and faced the street—constant noise. • Night staff sat around in guest chairs glued to their phones. • Cleaning staff shouted and laughed down the halls while we tried to rest.
Pros: • Free night offered. • Kind and welcoming check-in manager. • Friendly security staff. • Beautiful area outside the hotel.
Cons: • Room was filthy. • Bathroom was filthy. • Poor customer service at night. • Unprofessional, loud staff. • Zero accountability.
Bottom line: I would never stay here again. I don’t care how beautiful the neighborhood is—this place was gross, unprofessional, and a total letdown. Spend the extra money and stay at Eliza Jane, Cambria, or Higgins. Trust me, it’s worth it for your peace of mind and...
