The Best Rooftop in New Orleans! (I've only been to this one so...) I visited here mid July after an evening of celebrating my anniversary. I stopped by earlier in the day to checkout the place, valet parking available (I parked on the street both times). I take the elevator up to the roof and it was ambient enough even at 1pm ish. I was the only customer there at the time. I was greeted by two very friendly and assisting employees. I found out quickly they do not serve any food (little bar food would be nice). I wanted to see if I could request my wife's favorite song, they had it and they said they will play it when I arrived. I don't know if they always allow requests or if they were being super nice( I would bet on super nice if I had to). After arriving with my wife later that night, it was even more ambient. There's was a bit of a crowd upstairs but not too crowded. It took 5 seconds for my wife to notice the most beautifully unobstructed view of Downtown New Orleans. You could see everything from the Superdome to Algiers very clearly. While she's enjoying the view I told her I'll go get a couple us a couple of drinks. I used that time to order two bottles of water(we dont drink) and talk to the staff about my song request. They remembered and queued it to start after the current song. That was enough time to make it back to my wife, give her the water, listen to her talk about the view. Soon as we toasted to 8 more years, bang, Why I Love You by Major plays over the speakers. It was truly amazing. It was so clear and perfect, she asked it was a live band playing it. I never expected the other customers to get involved (taught her this growl while I was at the bar) but most if not all applauded and sighed. It only took 10 minutes of their time but it meant the world to us. Thank you owners and management you have a...

My first experience at Hot Tin was not pleasant. I kept hearing about the amazing view from other people so I decided to give it a try. I was seated outside along with my group and the server asked for a card to open up a tab and said that she was going to split it. The view was everything I had heard it would be and the drinks were good. My experience was tainted because when it was time to leave I recieved a notification that I was charged for a drink that I didn't ask for or receive. I specifically asked the server if she was going to remember all of the orders because it was a party of 7 and she didn't write anything down. Of course when she came back, she brought an extra drink that wasn't ordered and said that we could keep the incorrect one at no charge because it was an accident. Well I was charged for that drink as well as the one I received and when I went back to dispute it, she claimed that she never said anything like that. I had nothing to gain out of getting over for a $15 drink, it was the principle of the situation. I was told by several of the employees who were in the middle of cleaning up that I need to get my situation sorted out and leave. After I was told that, I asked for a manager and was told that nothing was going to change if I spoke to one. I claimed several times that I wasn't trying to cause any problems but that I just wanted to speak with someone who could fix it. She and the other employees claimed that they couldn't print me out a itemized receipt to go over everything with me. The entire situation and everyone's nonchalant attitude and lack of empathy towards me was a complete turnoff to Hot Tin and I won't be coming...

First the gentleman in the lobby checking ID's was extremely rude we let him know we had large group coming out to meet us. It was my fiance's birthday and about 30 people said they were coming out. He snorted and said I'll just put you down for 10 people in your party and practically dismissed us to the back sitting area. We get the text message to go upstairs and we go up the gentleman controlling the elevator let's us know there is a side balcony that is smaller and a little less crowded. He leads us there we all sit down and we ask will bartender come by to take our drink orders. He states yes and lady comes out to take our drink order. After she took our drink order and brought our drinks back nobody ever came back to ask if we wanted drinks. They would peep their heads out but never asked us if we wanted anything to drink. They would collect our glasses that we were getting from the bar but never acknowledged us or our drink needs. So the gentleman from downstairs in the lobby walks on to the balcony and states you n**s are still here. He than states oh cause you guys got here early and I'm about to get off and your still here. My party didn't respond. He leaves and comes back sits down for a minute or two and leaves again. It was just a really bad first experience. The place would have been much better if they had way better customer service and taught their employees how to treat customers no matter...

I saw a video about the Hot Tin on TikTok and immediately wanted to check it out! This roof top bar is on the edge of the Garden District and has great drinks with an awesome view. The bartenders were friendly and didn’t mind answering questions about the neighborhood. It’s at the top of the hotel Pontchartrain, so if you’re using Apple Maps to get there, make sure you’re looking for the hotel and not the bar, as we didn’t see a sign for the bar on the street. Make sure you’re paying attention to the elevator that you’re taking up, as we didn’t pay attention and ended up having to walk up five flights of stairs because we took the hotel elevator, not the elevator that went up to the Hot Tin. We tried the High Violet and the beer “90s Women Power Ballads” from the brewery Brieux Carre. We enjoyed the beer so much we actually went to the brewery several times during our stay - we would’ve never know about Brieux Carre if we hadn’t gone to the Hot Tin!

Located on the roof of the Pontchartrain Hotel, Hot Tin is a great place to enjoy a cocktail (or a few). Low lighting helps create a relaxing atmosphere on the inside, despite how noisy it may be when they’re busy. There’s also a small balcony, where you can enjoy a view of downtown. It’s particularly enjoyable after dark when you can see the city lights. As for the cocktails, they have a menu of unique creations you don’t see many places. The menu changes somewhat frequently though. What they offer today may be different than what they offer if/when you return a few months from now. All the usual bar drinks are always available too, of course. For me, Hot Tin also wins brownie points for its clever reference to the Tennessee Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof… Because, you know, the lounge is called “Hot Tin” and you’re on the roof.

Beautiful view and friendly bartenders. Unfortunately the drinks on their menu didn’t impress us although they were accommodating, they let my party switch to different drinks once we realized we didn’t like our initial choice. They would have received a slightly higher rating if their restrooms hadn’t been in such terrible condition. It’s sad to say but a portable restroom smells better and is maintained to a higher standard compared to what my party saw when we visited. Trash everywhere and surfaces covered in a think layer of dust. If you want to be known as a “must-go” upscale bar you must execute at a higher level than this. The amazing view alone will not keep us coming back.
