Sweet Thangs MIDCITY — Restaurant in New Orleans

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. DO NOT BOOK FOR EVENTS. march 26th, 2025. I attended an event at Xavier university were sweet thangs was one of the special treats if you completed the activities. I finished fairly quickly and hopped right in the line, shorty after the line got extremely unorganized and the owner was doing nothing to fix it. After 20 MINUTES OF WAITING I asked if they could just take my order and just write it down the page after the 5 people in front of me. THE WORKER yelled at me and said NO CUTTING. I was simply not cutting and was trying to offer a solution !!!!!! I later came back to try my luck again, once again the line was a hot mess. I WAITED FOR 2 HRS only for the machine to completely break down and stop working. it was 82 degrees outside and the only thing she had to offer was to go to her store to maybe get a free snow cone. Her truck was unsanitary, the ice was dropped in the disgusting mess of syrup, and the man cutting the pineapple was clearly sneezing and sweating over the pineapples (poor man overworked). She clearly is understaffed and shouldn't be taking on events if she can't sustain them, shamefully had Xavier students who didn't work for her working in the truck not practicing sanitary behavior. An all around mess who also had the audacity to talk down upon the xavier dorms and how she didn't wanna come here in the first place. DO NOT BOOK FOR EVENTS. If i could give it zero...

First impression is everything. I decided to give this place a try but my overall experience was horrible. None of the employees have manners including the owner. As I stood at the window waiting to order one of the employees continued eating before taking my order. During the ordering process he continued to cut me off constantly answering his cell phone to take personal calls. I ordered 5 snowballs and 1 crawfish rotel nacho. The young lady that makes everything was the only one to have manners but does not know what she is doing and doesn't appear to be old enough to work. Everyone in the snowball stand seems to leave majority of the responsibility on the young lady. While she is struggling to make this entire order, the other employees and the owner stands around and watch. The snowballs were not made properly and neither was the nacho. The snowballs were handed over very messy and leaking all over the place. The tops were sliding off before I could even make it to my car. The Nacho was not stacked right. They were laid flat instead of upright. The cheese was loose and the nachos were soggy. Based upon the taste its not crawfish rotel, its crawfish and chili. I spent 70 PLUS dollars on a disgusting, sugar water, overpriced snowball. The customer service was very mediocre and also the build (if you could call it that) was incredibly tiny. I wouldn’t even consider recommending it to anyone, especially on someone with children. I believed it would have been a great experience for my children and I but I was left extremely disgruntled. My six year son was so excited to try it and was unfortunately disappointed. Less than five minutes after trying it he asked me to throw it away because it was too sweet, and disgusting. I would have never thought a snowball would be too sweet for a six year old. I wanted to love it so much and I just genuinely displeased. The only way I could describe the experience is GHETTO. Also after my family and I tried it we each had incredibly painful headaches and nausea. Would not recommend, I think their business is a safety hazard. I watched the women who made our snowballs rinse plastic gloves. And did not change her gloves in the fifteen minutes we waited for our orders to be taken while making several different orders.
