Today I came in, and I love a black owned buisness, however the staff had an attitude. Any other day if you asked me if this place was amazing, I would recommend, however today the wait time was not updating on the site, she told us it would be about 25 minutes. I asked one of the servers who yelled about something called a 3-topper (as someone who's never worked food, I didn't understand but educated myself, essentially a table that seats 3, yet they have a lot of 2 seaters, which they were pushing together to make 4 toppers, more than enough for my group). She yelled about it, and continuously sat other groups before us, a different hostess mentions that I didn't deserve to be talked to that way, but that I would get the service that I deserved. Whatever that meant, I didn't want to find out. I offer the hostess with the attitude 5 dollars to make sure that we can resolve whatever issue there was, however instead she refused my money and apologized. After that I sat back at my table feeling as though all is right, however turns out she reported me saying that I threatened her and made her feel unsafe, "fearful for her life" That is not the type of person I am, and I still left her $10 after she told me what the issue was which I will not publicly disclose.
Not to mention, The manager on duty came aggressively towards me about trying to give her the $5, yet I asked for him to give her $10 instead, he mentioned that he couldnt force her to accept the money, as someone that drove from baton rouge to enjoy this place, I was very disappointed.
Updated: Note that the message claims that "they don't believe anyone yelled at me", although the manager I spoke to understood the full story, mentioned that there was footage with audio of the entire event at the front desk of everything that happens and you can clearly see me standing there after the embarrassment. Mentioning that I "Forced money on her" Is simply not true as i mentioned she simply refused on the first offer, Before fabricating a story. Following her never happened, and as a business WITH security cameras you can see that's clearly not the case. My issues simply continued to escalate every time a compromise was resolved, from Simply telling me that the wait time is because of a shortage of tables that can only accommodate for 2 people, In response I get embarrassed infront of the entire crew. When I spoke with the manager, I get fear that my food will be spit into so I tried to say let's not have whatever issue we have with your staff. Then I get an apology, and everything's cool, and this young adult who is not able to drink is told that I made people fear for their lives when she didn't even take my Single attempted offer. She refused the money the first time and apologized and I was Completely satisfied with this outcome until the manager held himself unprofessionally. And to resolve the issue as I mentioned I knew I could not force money on her and that was fine, So when I gave the $10 to the manager to give to her I did not receive that back so either she accepted it, or it was pocketed, But I was not told that she rejected the money a second time so from my understanding everything else should have been fine. If this was truly about the safety of your workers, Get the full story from your entire crew, and when a customer asks you to play back an incident that you clearly have footage of with audio at the beginning of the dispute, you should consider giving it a look over before it escalates as it did for future reference as I mentioned the first time before even...

This holds true even in the healthcare industry. Your job is to wow your customers so good that they want to spend their time giving you a favorable review so that others have the honor of trying out your establishment. You talk about my reviews but you and your establishment also have MANY negative reviews which are similar in detail. Why would you ever be defensive towards your customers rather than fixing your issues? You do know, you can actually lose potential customers just by how you reply to past customers on these forums, right? I digress. You go ahead and keep things exactly the same! TikTok deception will only get you so far. The ole bait and switch is working, for now. Clearly, consumers like myself, patronize businesses that we want to enjoy. We don’t want to waste our money on a garbage experience. I see you have a habit of letting your customers down though.
Owner’s response: Thanks for sharing the story of your experience. It's unfortunate that your experience with us appears to reflect the experience of every other place you've ever left a review for on Google. We do appreciate you visiting our restaurant, approving of our atmosphere and contributing to keeping our small business thriving. It was a pleasure having you at biscuits and buns.
Initial review: Food - I ordered the chicken and waffles which, apparently, comes with grits but I wasn’t aware of that so I ordered a side of grits for my kid. The grits were the best thing we ordered, they were nice and creamy but you don’t get much. I also order a fruit cup that I regretted ordering because it seemed that no one QA’d the fruit before sending it to our table. The orange juice was HORRIBLE. It tasted more like orange drink, like Sunny D. The waffles were tough so the butter knife they gave me didn’t stand a chance. The chicken lacked actual seasoning but tasted like the sour hot sauce that they put in it. The side of bacon I ordered was greasy like it was drained on sat on something to catch the excess grease.
Atmosphere - The best thing about this place is the art on the walls. The QR code on our table register table 12 versus our actual table, table 1. Cleanliness, or the lack thereof, needs some attention.
Service - Last but not least, our server was nice however, she was all over the place and never did things she said she would do “right now”. I had asked one of the other servers for help and she caught an attitude with me and said she would “tell our server” which clearly, she did not. I ordered our food before the other server’s table was even seated and they STILL got their...
Read moreThis was the worst restaurant experience of my life! We arrived at 10:30 and asked for a table for 8, the waitress told us to wait a minuto for she was going to prepate our table. We waited outside for about 15 minutes and then she told it was ready. Because of the wait time I thought the restaurant was full but BOY WAS I WRONG! The restaurant was almost vacant except for two tables of two. Even though we asked for a table of 8 and the waitress said she was preparing the table she said we had to split up in a very rude manner. As we sat we were all disgusted by the sticky tables and chairs, they were so sticky most of us used out napkins on our chairs or table in order to not feel the stickiness. We even tried to clean the table but regardless it was still sticky. That was very uncomfortable and diagusting. After a while the waitress came to take our order. Time went by and we waited and waited but nothing came. After about 40 minutes we asked our waitress how much longer we had to wait and she very rudely replied that she didnt know that she wasnt the problem it was the kitchen. Nobody in put group was rude to her in order to recieve such a response. We waited for 20 more minutes, of course we were getting wrestless and hangry, we had been there for an hour, maybe even more. FINALLY after 120 minutes the first orders came to our tables but the waitress rudely (and literally threw the plates at us). We were shocked. They took 120 to prapare waffles and eggs, and biscuits that we didnt even recieve. Most of the orders were wrong, we got some overcooked egges that we did not order, we didn’t get the biscuits we ordered, my grandpa ordered eggs benefict and he got one bun with ONE EGG and then the waiter (who was very nice by the way and had to step up because of waitress was apparently “overwhelmed and confused”) braught us a single and lonley extra poached egg. My sister had ordered something that arrived with scrambled instead of poached like she asked and my grandma’s order did not come at all. We were shocked and confused because we did not order anything intricate or that requieres a longer cooking time than 20 minutes (and that is a streach). When we asked for the check we were charged as a party of 8 and had to pay 20% gratuity even though the restaurant had huge signs saying that their policy was 1 bill per table (we were forced to split in to to tables of four) and that gratuity was mandatory for parties larger than 5. Literally DO NOT GO THERE. The food is meh, the wait time is unreasonable and the service is pretty bad (the waitress might have had a bad day but that wasn’t our fault) No food is worth waiting 120 minutes at a...
