If you have a minute, spend it by visiting The flagpole nola located at 2032 Esplanade Ave. for fairly priced, quality food & drinks that are served with proper attention to product & customer, a happy disposition, and pleasant demeanor capped by a smile - aspects that are often overlooked or ignored in today's impersonal, fast-paced for no reason, race to nowhere society.

Do you like good food resulting in a smile of satisfaction derived from: a pleased palate knowing that your hard earned money was at last traded for an item of equal value a genuine feeling that you weren't once again ripped off by paying too much begrudgingly acquired currency in exchange for mediocre food prepared with zero love & care?

Maybe you're bored and need to get out of the house or like to strike up conversations with strangers and seek ample opportunity of extemporaneous (off the cuff, spontaneous, unplanned) in-person human interaction and verbal exchange with real people (an 'irl' experience for the youngsters).

It could be that you crave a single seat occupied by you in isolation without want of bother.

Whatever particular reality that you desire & wish to experience, it can be had The flagpole nola nestled on the always in-motion intersection of Esplanade & N. Galvez.

Suit up in your favorite fashionable outfit, or dawn your non-matching, cobbled together, well-worn comfy clothing then randomly ramble or opt for the most direct route that will deliver your person to the Flagpole where you can try as few or as many of their sugary & savory specialties as you wish:

• fresh squeezed, fresh juice sno-balls • a delectable, delightful, quenching glass of Orange, Mango or Papaya juice made to order & squeezed straight from the nutritious, nurturing love of Mother Nature • savor every satisfying morsel of an authentic, straight from the Caribbean house specialty - Cubano Sandwich - made by an actual 'born in Cuba' Cuban who knows the secrets to creating the perfect Cuban sandwich.

Prepare yourself for the crispy crunch of bread, hot melted cheese, sliced ham & marinated pork that was the previous unknown, needed addition to your ‘favorites list' of reliable 'go to’ meals that you can count on to be reliably good.

A Cuban Sandwich and other culinary cravings are coaxing you to The flagpole nola to soothe your wanton need of a tasty treat!

Don't take it from me -

Go have a look-see, peruse the many offerings, and assemble for yourself a "menú degustación" by which your best opinion can be made as to the worthiness of the 'comida sabrosa' touted by the author in unrequested long form

Select from a smattering of menu options that pique your curiosity and set you salivary glands alight

You be the judge if my testament is honest or a work of fanciful fiction

If for no other reason, try a new spot for good grub while occupying an outdoor seat in a perfect location for soaking in the flow of relaxing day or being actively entertained at a most satisfying and intriguing pastime of people watching - now who doesn't think that the above description has the makings for a once, twice , maybe thrice times spent contently consuming a delicious assortment of reasonably priced, belly filling food while observing and being provide free, unique, never-before performed random acts of entertainment taking place in, on & around a constantly changing streetscape surrounding the busy & buzzing convenient location of The flagpole nola - a local operation whose sole business is to serve freshly made food & sweet treats to your delight &...

If there were a Coffee Olympics, The Flagpole in New Orleans would take home the gold in not just one, but three categories: Coffee, Fresh Orange Juice, and Mango Juice. Visiting The Flagpole isn't just a morning ritual; it's an epicurean pilgrimage to the holy land of caffeination and refreshment.

Let's start with the coffee - it's like the bean whisperers behind the counter have a secret pact with the coffee gods. Each sip feels like winning the flavor lottery, a jackpot of aromatic bliss that wakes you up better than a cold shower or realizing you're late for work.

But wait, there's more! The fresh orange juice could easily be mistaken for liquid sunshine, squeezed from the very best oranges that have been kissed by the Louisiana sun. It's like a hug for your taste buds from Mother Nature herself.

And the mango juice? Imagine the most exotic, sun-ripened mangoes doing the tango in your mouth. It's a tropical vacation in a cup, no passport required.

In a city known for its vibrant food and drink scene, The Flagpole stands tall and proud, a beacon of deliciousness in the bustling heart of New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, missing out on this gem would be a greater tragedy than forgetting your beads at Mardi Gras.

So, if you find yourself wandering the enchanting streets of New Orleans, do yourself a favor and follow the flag. The Flagpole, that is. It's not just a café; it's a love letter to...

This is by far my favorite snow ball stand. The owner, Andres, always gives the warmest welcomes and we share a mutual admiration of classic cars. He’s actually from Havana, where he and his family ran a classic car sight seeing business. I always enjoy our chats and he really pours some soul into his snowballs and coffee’s. Really love the color and patina on his beautiful 55’ Chevy too. It’s one of my favorite classic cars. The flag pole is a MUST DO if you get the chance to visit New Orleans. It sits on a peaceful spot of the beautiful Esplanade Ave. You can sip your coffee or enjoy a snowball all while taking in the atmosphere and admiring his beautiful automotive...

I made a hard stop as I was strolling on Esplanade Ave with my husky. A counter for coffee sipping? Homemade pastries by an elderly woman who bakes without a menu based on her mood? 2 treats for my Doggo? Outside seating where I can people watch and enjoy the best coffee Nola has to offer? All of it. YES! I joke Not. The coffee is smooth and strong enough to put a pep in your step. Don’t waste a minute going anywhere else. Stop here and stay awhile. The owner gets a 5 ⭐️ for a great attitude and smile.

Excellent shaved ice with great flavors! The real fruit flavors are excellent (today got "Raw mango") and subtly sweet, greatly paired with a condensed milk topping. The coffee flavor is made with fresh cuban coffee and heavy cream- very decadent and strong but also unsweetened so very necessary to get it with condensed milk as well. Their fresh guava juice, bagel sammies and other flavors sound great too, and the outdoor misting fans are so refreshing. Highly recommend!

Wonderful smooth taste coffee. This is the best coffee in New Orleans that I have tasted. I came here with my friends recommendation. We came from Los Angeles. And we got the regular coffee and we added some raw sugar. The guy who was working here was helpful and very friendly. For sure I love the live music also at this place. There was live music here when we were here. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves coffee and a great vibe.
