Delicious and reasonablet priced Mexican/Middle Eastern Meals Tony your host is a Gem, Very personable (Mexican recipes are his Mothers), and easy on the eyes. Tony offered us a lagniappe of a very tasty bowl of pork and beans in a soupy broth(I never had this recipe before). It was accompanied by really good and not too salty chips.
I ordered the hummus which was both smooth and creamy with a sprinkling of sumac on top, served with a thin pita(ask for it to be heated) and carrot sticks. Excellent. My friend has the fried catfish, which had unusual(both crispy and tasty, served with fries( ask for them to fried 30 seconds to a minute longer, depending on doneness you prefer). However both of us were unimpressed with the Cole slaw (it seemed too oil heavy and viscous, you have several other items to choose from). Tony offer us a sweet frozen plantain on a stick, dipped in chocolate, with possibly a sprinkling of coconut. We were just too full.
Next time.

Read moreStopped in here on the recommendation of our VRBO host. Party of 4. My partner ordered an Old Fashion but they were out of sweet vermouth. One of the owners promised to hook him up with a special drink. From that moment on we all felt like we were fast friends with him. He made recommendations all of which were excellent. Fresh guacamole and homemade chips to start. We ordered different tacos and quesadillas. Everything was fresh and fantastic. The owner promised to cook us all breakfast the next morning. We showed up at 10:30 the next morning. He had fresh really strong coffee waiting. We never saw a menu he just said he would take care of getting our breakfast. First thing he brought was an amazing bean soup with just the right amount of spice. I really wanted to ask for the recipe :). Next he brought out plates of food with eggs, refried beans, plantains, fresh avocado and cheese. The sausage was the best dang sausage. Again everything was fresh, nothing was greasy. The owner shared his story and a little of where the recipes came from. Very personable guy. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will definitely head back the next time...
Read moreStopped in since it was a new place and WOW it was a great decision. I went for a ceviche special and was not disappointed. All the flavors blended wonderfully!
And oh man... the flavors! Tried the place again and AGAIN was not disappointed. The owner caught me having an almost intimate moment with how flavorful the tacos were that day, that's how good it was! I will not apologize for how much I appreciated the taste of those tacos birria, no sir. Rich, piquant, delicious and yet they still felt like an abuela made them just for me. Oh, and the beans! THE BEANS!!!! All I can say is WOW once again!
And the geniality of the staff/owner was massively appreciated. I was made to feel as if I had been coming there for years, even though that's not even possible. Well done to you guys and your great attitude! Your food sold me but you guys were like the cherry on top.
I liked this place so much I came home and looked it up just so I could write this review (took me a little bit). God[CENSORED] if I won't be coming back again. And again.
Seriously, check this place out. They're doing it...
