We decided to lunch at Sunset Cove today. Really wanted to like it, so perhaps we’ll give more time for them to improve. Firstly, we were seated quickly, not very many people there for a Saturday at 12:30ish. But then we waited 16 minutes before anyone approached our table to just order drinks. and yeah noticed staff standing around while we waited for someone to approach our table. Then we noticed food was slow to come out. We don’t mind waiting, but it really wasn’t that busy, would hate to see the delay if it truly was busy. Oh,. Women’s bathroom, even though just opened, stall out of order. (Note it’s been out of order for a week according to others) While we were waiting for food, (because you know if you go to the bathroom that means the food will arrive! lol, ) another couple that had been seated walked out after saying out loud that they had been waiting a while for service. So it just wasn’t us. Then our food came. The burger was just a regular preformed patty, not much taste and definitely not very juicy. She got a salad and ordered chicken protein. I like my fry’s hot, and they were lukewarm when arrived, in addition to being $3 extra for fries instead of potato chips. Come on, who eats a burger with potato chips?? Her salad? Barely larger than a regular side dinner salad. Which brings me to pricing, $19 for a smallish bowl of salad and $17 for a mediocre smallish burger and lukewarm fries.
Pluses: Ambiance was nice and the place looks really good, the design and setup is nice. Definitely potential, but we’ll wait until others say it is improved. Can’t wait to...
Read moreThis great little gem holding stong on the Big Bayou Point canal just off US 19 was super nice. The wife and I were greeted and promptly seated overlooking the docks, catching the sun as it set over Gulf Harbours. Surprisingly there where but only 2 other tables during our hole dinning experience. Boasting a full liquor bar. We both began with cocktails and are appetizer of cheese curd and broccoli balls. The cheese was hot and gooey with bits of broccoli popping throughout. Although the oil was a bit on the old side it did not ruin the dish, I strongly recommend in the future that you check before ordering yourself. For the Frist time both the Mrs and I ordered the entrée for our main course. Fried bohemian redfish. The server gave quite the display of deboning the fish for my wife. As for me, I am to low class and picked mine clean myself. The asparagus and Mushroom Panini paired very well with a fish. We both over ate that night. Our server over hearing me wish my wife a happy birthday, surprised her with a dessert before leaving for the evening. At the time of this visit, the docks outside the restaurant are under a bit of construction along with the parking lot nearby. However, there was plenty of parking for all to be had.Don't miss out on the opportunity for this nice evening or launch...
Read moreWent for lunch over the weekend with my family and a friend. The food was yummy, reasonable prices, the service was great, and the view was okay. The water view was blocked by all the boats that were docked so I don’t know that you’ll see many Sunsets at “Sunset” Cove, but it was still a very pretty setting. We had the Sunset Shrimp appetizer, (a little too spicy for me but everyone enjoyed it, next time I will ask for the sauce on the side). We also had, Pulled Pork Sammy, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Steak Quesadilla, Cajun Chicken Pasta, Grouper Tacos, and the Chicken Tenders. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and I will be going back to try other menu items. The one suggestion we have is to add crab legs on the menu. I feel like a waterfront restaurant in Florida should always have crab legs available and even a lobster option.
(2 small complaints, 1, The first soda (coke) I received tasted like mildew, when I asked for a new one it did taste better so maybe it was just the cup. 2, They did upcharge an extra $0.75 cents for a tiny little container of ranch to dip my fries in. For the amount they gave, $0.25 cents seemed more reasonable to me but that’s just my opinion.)
All in all, it was a good experience, and we had...
