My husband was really excited to come back here and told me how great it was. Ordered coffee, and it was so watered down and awful. There were maybe 1 or 2 other customers when we were there and our waitress said “Hi.”, left, then didn’t come back. We had a couple questions as I’d never been there before, but those didn’t get answered. After we had been sitting there for a while, we got up to leave and was asked what the problem was. When I said that we’d been sitting there for a bit and wanted to go somewhere else, the waitress/owner wanted to argue with me. As someone who works in a restaurant, that’s completely unacceptable. If a customer says they want to go somewhere else and they’re been sitting for a while, you say “I’m sorry, have a great day.” You don’t try to argue with them. So we’ll be going to Pam’s where the service is much better.
Edit: it was NOT told to us by the hostess that there were other things going on. The “server” aka OWNER did not APPROACH us but rather asked us over the counter from the back “What’s the problem?” and the comments about high prices were because I had questions about some items and wasn’t able to ask anyone because no one came over to us that we were available to ask questions to. Sounds like you want to use the prices as an excuse that we walked out, but that wasn’t it at all. Again, if someone wants to leave the restaurant, it’s “Thank you, have a great day.” There is no questioning or scolding the customer. The fact that you continue to want to argue shows a lot about who owns the business, and I will not be going back. You openly just admitted to talking poorly about your own customers. Even paid for my bland, tasteless creamer water before we left. Point blank, the owner seems to have an...
Read moreWe had seen this in our searches so many times looking for something different to eat, but never really made it here. I am SO glad we were finally able to make it in!!!!! When you pull in, you don't think it will be much....not because the outside looks bad, because it was VERY clean and VERY nice!!! It just looks small, HOWEVER...Walk inside to such a nicely decorated, CLEAN, dining room. We were immediately greeted and told to sit wherever. Large booths and spacious tables make it easy for groups and families to enjoy their meal without sitting on top of each other. The owner came out and explained the menu to us and answered all of our questions. We got there around 2:30 and my fiancée wanted to try the chicken but didn't want to make them stay later because she said it would take about 30 mins for it to cook...The owner said it didn't matter and order it anyway. (She was absolutely AMAZING!! Sweet as PIE!!!) We ordered a 4 piece chicken to share because we don't eat very much and we ABSOLUTELY could have gotten a 2 piece to share!!! THIS CHICKEN IS SO GOOD!!! HUGE breaststroke, and the outside is so crispy and FULL of flavor!!! The menu has SO many things that we want to try! If you haven't been here, YA NEED TO GO! It is SO good!!! ALL the food is made to order and fresh. She did tell us that there a wait on the weekends and they are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Y'ALL, THEY EVEN HAVE MADE FROM SCRATCH PIES (Apple, BLUEBERRY, Cherry, AND CHEESECAKE!!!) We will ABSOLUTELY be back. I can't WAIT to try the...
Read moreBIG thanks to the folks who recommended Tops Cafe on the north side of Massachusets, just west of Congress, NPR for fried chicken. We have been to Southern Fresh in Safety Harbor which was good too but over-hyped in our opinion. We also liked Krispy Krunchy in the gas station at Little and old 54, NPR but Tops was just right, not at all greasy and seasoned just right, not too salty. Himself is quite picky about his mashed potatoes and gravy and was happy with that as well. The house made blue cheese dressing for the side salad was soooo good that I want to lick the container clean, seriously. There is nothing worse than restaurant supply blue cheese dressing. We went back the next day, Friday, for their fried fresh cod which was ridiculously amazing. Light batter, not at all greasy, perfectly seasoned and not too salty and the fish inside was just glistening, not dry. The crinkle fries are from frozen but theirs were so well prepared that they were surprisingly good. The chicken fried steak skillet that I had the first day and the tops burger that Himself had the second day were also perfectly prepared. Tops is now definitely going to have spot in our favorite...
