My recent experience at this place was not the best. The lady that was working told me that I wasn’t allowed to try any of the flavors before ordering. I’m not sure what ice cream place that offers 50 flavors doesn’t let you try them. Then she was still continuing to be difficult by telling me I’m not allowed to get a small with two flavors. Then on top of all of that, as she was scooping the ice cream out, she was putting her bare thumb on the ice cream after she was touching money from the customer before us (and given this is a cash only place you would think they are required to be more sanitary with touching money whilst serving ice cream.) That horrible ice cream experience was not worth 18$ For 2 cups. I couldn’t even eat it knowing her hand was on my ice cream after touching money. I’m legit never coming back here and my mood is completely ruined from that rude difficult...
Read moreDelicious ice cream! Recently I visited Block Island for a group field trip sort of thing and we decided to end our visit with some ice cream. There are so many delicious flavors-so difficult to only choose a few. The ice cream is really creamy and although it is a bit pricey the portions are very generous. The only issue I have with the Ice Cream Place are not related to the actual ice cream. My friend ordered an ice cream in a cup with a cone on top, but when she received the order it was just in a cup. When she reminded the server that she also wanted a cone they said she could only have one or the other. In their defense, they were probably rushed due to the large group, but it was still odd that she couldn't just get both. Overall a great place to go for ice cream if you're visiting...
Read moreOn an island that is everything but ageist you come across “the ice cream place” that rudely confronts you with the fact that Peter Pan is just a tale, as if looking into the mirror isn’t enough. Why can’t an adult order a kiddie cone? All you want is just a break from American excess and in some way a belief that the good things from childhood never change. The ice cream on the island is all the same, been to them all, and this place is just a bit too snobbish for someone of any age when they make you remember that we do grow up and that the difference of 25 cents is much more important to their bottom line than your sense of nostalgia and your first love of ice cream. It’s not always about the taste but about how it is served and this place serves and sells...
