Royal Rooster in Little Neck, Queens is a true find! We dined as a family and enjoyed an unforgettable meal with an impressive lineup of dishes. We started with the Coconut and Fresh Chicken Soup and the Cordyceps Flower and Chicken Soup – both were wonderfully rich and clean-tasting, with no hint of MSG. The restaurant’s theme is coconut, infusing it into almost every dish, adding a subtle, unique twist to the flavors. We tried the Duck and Taro Casserole stewed in coconut broth, which was flavorful and hearty, and the Stewed Beef with Curry, which also had a hint of coconut that enhanced the curry’s aroma. This coconut infusion added a special touch without overpowering the dishes. The Stir-Fried Beef Flat Noodles captured that perfect smoky flavor from the wok, and their signature chili sauce added a delightful kick. The Hainanese Chicken, their specialty, was incredibly tender, and the homemade ginger and scallion sauce brought out its flavor beautifully. The Claypot Rice stole the show – the lightly crispy layer on the bottom added amazing texture without any bitterness. You can tell the chef has mastered the balance of heat. I also heard the chef trained at a renowned hotel in Guangzhou, China, which is clear in the authenticity and quality of each dish. To wrap up the meal, we tried their Coconut Sago Dessert and the Coconut Pudding, served in an actual coconut. Both desserts were just the right amount of sweet – light, refreshing, and perfect for cleansing the palate. With such reasonable prices for this level of quality, Royal Rooster is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Cantonese flavors. Highly recommend!

Extremely bad dining experience in this restaurant! Don’t let the beautified photos fool you! The actual dishes that they made were so different from the photos. One dish stated that soup would be included. We never got the soup or even offered. We didn't even bother to ask because it was so chaotic. We sat down for half hour, no waiter or waitress came over to ask if we would like to have anything to drink until we asked. When they cleaned the tables, it was so loud because they threw everything inside with no manner. It made you looking at them and wondered if they knew what they were doing. They tried to make the environment beautiful but they used so cheap and fake materials. I looked at the ceiling, I saw that they covered whatever underneath with plastics. Some parts of the plastics probably falling, so they used regular tapes to “secure” them. It is a potential hazard. There was a switch/outlet under my daughter’s chair. It didn’t look cleaned and safe for us - the customer. I wish the owner/manager will see this review. If he/she wants to continue to have this restaurant, he/she (or they) will need to train the waiters/waitress well and spend some money to fix the decorations and arrange the restaurant better. The experience really made me feel that they just want to get rich fast (暴富) as one of the 招财猫 says that they put on their counter, but they are unwilling to spend money/or to invest money first.

Alright, so let's talk about this Coconut Water Hotpot situation at Royal Rooster. First off, let me just say, it's like a flavor explosion in your mouth – in a good way! Imagine this: you walk in, and the smell hits you, that sweet aroma of coconut that just makes you hungry on the spot. That's what happened to me. And then you sit down, and they bring out this bubbling pot of goodness, and you just know you're in for a treat. They bring up a few fresh coconut and poured the essence of coconut right into the pot. It's sweet, but not too sweet, and it's got this rich, comforting vibe that just makes you want to slurp it all up. Now, let's talk about the stuff you dunk in there. They give you all these fresh ingredients – veggies, meats, seafood – and you just go to town, throwing it all in and watching it cook up to perfection. It's interactive, it's fun, and it's delicious. And the best part? It's not pretentious. You're not sitting there wondering what fancy words to use to describe the experience. You're just enjoying good food with good company, and that's what it's all about. So, if you're looking for a meal that's not just tasty but also a whole vibe, hit up Royal Rooster and get yourself some Coconut Water Hotpot. Trust me, you won't regret it.
