I literally came here for their soup dumpling as I was in the area . I heard from other Yelpers some nice reviews about the restaurants specialty . It was past 5 pm on a Friday night and hit an easy parking spot to next door's establishment ( bank).
It was not crowded yet when I walked in. Placed the order and in less than 15 minutes I got my soup dumpling and my Shanghai style rice noodle. Being alone has an advantage. I have tried 2 bite size already when a waiter came over to tell me that the one I have was a pork . My pork and crab dumpling order has just arrived. They switched and apologized . When I was trying the pork and crab that I realized, I preferred the pork. My rice noodle was soft and packed with lots of meat. It was my first soup dumpling experience and I enjoyed it. The dumpling was soupy and tasty. I have trouble in the beginning on the right way to eat it. I placed a take out order for the family to enjoy it as well together with some other popular meals.
The restaurant is nice and neat. It is a good spot for a simple celebration . The staff is nice. The wait bench is neat . The restaurant 's logo ( smiley dumpling!) is so cute and pasted as a mark identifier for the restroom, changing table , business card, toothpick holder etc. The mode of payment is by cash so be ready for that. They have additional parking in the back. These informations are posted by the front door which is a very clever idea. Patrons will love coming back for the quality of food and service regardless of the downside . By the way , they do delivery too in the nearby areas and accept take out order in person or by phone. Pricing is higher comparably to other Asian restaurants of same standards but worth it.
I am loving the place. Definitely coming back to try other thing...
Read moreI took my kids 2 girls for lunch. 7/12/24 we ordered 2 dumplings for kids one pork one beef and I ordered myself sweet and sour soup and while I looked at menu lunch special the man who took orders was trying to sell me rice noodle beef but it was not in the lunch special. That time I was busy with 2 kids they are 6and 7 yrs old. So I said to him ok. Then my kids’s food came and soup came with big bowl I was surprised then maybe my fault I didn’t tell that I want small bowl only myself because soup is spicy and how can kids eat? This was the first one the I disappointed that the man should knew. Then my kids finished all dumplings but my food didn’t come yet it was late I waited for 35mins and that time in the restaurant only 4tables it wasn’t busy. Then my food came and I only ate a little because I need to rush out because my kids have to go to class so I asked them to pack and get check. Then when I saw a bill came out I was shocked because soup cost $9 and beef rice noodle cost $15 I think it’s really over price!!!! And the waiter just tried to sell the food for non-Chinese like me which is not familiar with food. And with the soup and had no meat cost $9 and stirs fried noodle with little beef and small cost $15. I won’t recommend this and I have no wonder when I saw the sign only B at the front. The environment inside was dark and smelly. Last but not least when I get in the car I was about to continue eating my lunch they didn’t give me dark or any utensils. TO be honest I like Chinese food and can eat all kinds of food but the price is too much. ( I wasn’t looking at the menu because the waiter told me to get this and I thought it’s on the lunch special which I was looking at it and roughly was...
Read moreBefore I start it need to stress that this place is cash only so make sure you have enough before you visit this place. That said the food is reasonably priced so you can eat a lot for not a lot of money.
This place doesn't take reservations so you must come expecting a wait. When I went around noon, there was a wait for at least 10 minutes. I've also been here once before for dinner and the wait was significantly longer.
This place is called Little Dumpling, so it made sure I ordered dumplings. I had the soup dumplings, and pan fried dumplings to start. The soup dumplings are made fresh and come out piping hot. The are of decent size and filled with flavorful soup. I would say they're pretty high up there for their soup dumplings. The pan fried dumplings were also very tasty, though quite greasy.
In addition, I had their scallion pancake, and Shanghai udon. Both were also very tasty. The scallion pancake were crispy and flavorful and came in six pieces. The Shanghai udon had a savory taste but was also very greasy, however, it did taste good.
Overall the food was good but greasy. Prices are reasonable, but...
