Updated: 6/27/2021 Went to Bangkok Avenue last week and again last night. My friends have been wanting to try a good local place in my hood and so I suggested this place twice in a row.
I'm finding new dishes to explore each visit to challenge myself from ordering the same favorites.
New suggestions aside from my previous review:
Service was top notch this visit. With the heavy breeze and summer bugs in the air, we kept having to get new glasses of water. LOL no fault of the restaurant but thanks to their hard work, we got new glasses and drinks in a flash. They made no qualms about our table mishaps either (8 people, we're bound to drop a utensil or two, and kids just spill drinks). Stuff happens and they were so patient and gracious about it.
9/2020: Had a lovely Al Fresco dining experience via the sidewalk/street side tables. I came on a recommendation from a fellow neighborhood foodie. I particularly liked the seafood dishes the menu offered as well as the appetizers. Do note this menu does offer vegetarian and meats but judging from the fellow diners as well, the draw here are the splendid crab and shrimp dishes. Our server this evening was Songpol. He was very friendly and engaged us in conversation when he heard us talking about Thailand. He was very attentive; constantly refilling our water and checking in on how we liked the meal. Even when all of the tables were occupied, he was quick to respond to each. I did make a reservation in case, given the limited seating and my group of four.
The crabmeat omelette was the favorite in my group even with the kids. And they don't normally ask for seafood. I really enjoyed my Thai Iced Tea, it was not overly sweet, made just right. Check my photos for other fare we had. Everything...

Atmosphere: The vibes are on point. Beautiful decor, Art, furniture, and seating. The bar is well lit. Comfy chairs & liquors on display. It's very social media friendly. The server / host was very welcoming. It was a Wednesday night and wasn't packed. So, we had our choice of seating.
Drinks: We ordered two thai iced teas - Yummy. Not overly sweet. Nice and cold. There was a Thai Iced Tea Float but unfortunately it wasn't available to try. I'll be going back for this.
There is a vast selection of well know classic Thai dishes and some not so know (at least to me) but they all look delicious.
Appetizers: We ordered the shrimp cake. It was tasty with the plum sauce and on it's own a 5/10 with the sauce 8.5/10
Entrees: I ordered the Beef Stew & my wife got the minced pork fried rice.
Beef Stew with vermicelli noodles was fantastic. It was aromatic, fresh, and visually appealing. The spices reminded me of a dish called Pepper pot. The beef was tender and flavorful. The beef balls were tender and juicy. I loved the pepper infused broth. I would enjoy this on a cold winter day.
Minced Pork Fried Rice: Perfectly seasoned. A nice spicy kick. Pork was nice and not fatty. Well balanced flavors. The runny egg on the rice was chefs kiss. My wife really enjoyed it.
Portions are good. If you're hungry you'll be satisfied.
Parking in this neighborhood is decent but gets busy in the afternoon.
I can't wait to go back & try their...
Read moreHands down the best Lamb Chops I’ve had in NY… and that’s saying a lot because I order them everywhere 🤯
I took my mom to her first Thai meal last night and even though she’s somewhat of a picky eater, she was so pleasantly surprised with how much she liked EVERYTHING!
Everything we ordered had so much flavor and was perfectly cooked. It really reminded me of being in Thailand, the flavors here are definitely more authentic than fusion style. So glad I got to try it, it’s definitely the perfect choice if you don’t want to drive all the way into Manhattan for a great meal.
Here’s what we ate:
Soft Shell Crab Mango Salad (crab was seasoned SO well and mango salad had a bit a spicy quick which I loved 🥰)
Chicken Satay ( my moms favorite appetizer, particularly good bc the skewers were juicy and not overcooked)
Pad Thai with Chicken (I love that it was served in an egg net! Something about this presentation makes it taste better haha. One of my favorite Pad Thais for sure.)
Lamb Chop Zaab ( THE BEST! Tamarind sauce on the perfectly spiced lamb chops was chefs kiss 💋)
For Dessert:
Fried Banana with Homemade Coconut Ice Cream ( my mom ate 90% of this while I was filming something and then asked me if I was going to eat the last piece 🤣)
We both ordered mocktails to drink but they had some really decorative cocktails on the menu!
Pina Colada Mango Mocktail
100000% recommend. My mom even wanted me to leave the...
