This is another great option for quick but healthy food. Bango Bowls is a fast casual joint that has a surprisingly substantial menu. They offer bowls (grain, poke, and salad), acai, smoothies, toasts, Flaninis (pressed flatbread), oatmeal and drinks. Their newest location recently opened in New Hyde Park. We were in the neighborhood and decided to try them out this past weekend. We got:

Bango Bowl with acai base, strawberries, bananas, granola, coconut, and drizzle of honey. I loved the granola oats used here at Bango Bowls. It was crispy, and light with a tinge of sweetness. The acai base was refreshing, and slightly tangy.

Protein Toast on multigrain bread, mashed avocadoes, slices of hard-boiled egg and everything seasoning. This was my favorite dish from what we ordered. I thought the multigrain toast was delicious and went very well with the Everything seasoning that was sprinkled on top.

We also ordered a Poke Bowl which was presented very nicely. I liked the time and care they took with making it look lovely. We got the Poke Bowl with white rice base, chopped romaine, marinated raw salmon, crispy onions, seaweed salad, edamame, cucumbers, and corn. We asked for a couple of dressings on the side (Balsamic vinaigrette and Lemon Basil Ranch) so I wasn’t expecting to have them also put soy sauce dressing all over the poke bowl. I kind of wished they just gave it to us plain without any dressing as I didn’t care too much for the soy sauce dressing. They put way too much and made the bowl too salty. Other than that, all of the ingredients tasted fresh, and the bowl was very filling.

While I probably wouldn't go out of my way to revisit, I would still recommend you give them a try if you are in the neighborhood. The staff is lovely, the food is fresh and made to order, not to mention healthy.

First impression, I entered through the rear entrance way and there was garbage all around the door entrance way; I almost turned away but thought I would still give it a try. Entered the store, to see three very unhappy workers and the environment seemed stressful. I ordered and received a flatbread that was poorly wrapped and unprofessionally made. It was difficult to eat because everything kept falling out since the ingredients were drowning in some type of sauce. I ate about half and dispose of the rest. Within an hour, I started to get terrible stomach pains and terrible gas. I was sick for the rest of the night. I should of trusted my instinct on the way in and turned away. I won't be...

Bango Bowls recently opened up and I was excited to try since the only location I knew existed in more eastern Long Island. I tried their Dragon Bowl in their medium size, and it was pretty filling. A good balance of sweetness for me where it wasn’t overbearing. They had a good mix of fruits and granola, just felt as if there was more granola then there was of the base, but still great. I only tried one item but they offer savory options like flatbread paninis, poke bowls, and other healthy options. This place has a lot of good potential, and I would love to try out their other...

They add granola to the bottom and then again after adding some acai blend. $13 for when you’re paying for granola is terrible. We get acai all the time and never experience this from a place. Quality isn’t good either. Will not be returning. Seems like they’re cutting corners to save money
