My daughter in law and I had lunch there after her doctor visit at the hospital. First of all when we entered, the waitress was sitting at the table on her cell phone. Clearly what she was doing on her cell phone was a whole lot more important than the customers in front of her. She barely looked at us when I inquired if we should sit ourselves. As a matter of fact she looked at us with a twinge of annoyance. Ok so Carlos, who was so sweet, escorted us to a table near the window which was quite nice. After sweet Carlos asked if we would like something to drink and he politely and promptly brought it to us, the middle aged waitress comes over, puts on her best oscar-like performance of interest in her chosen vocation and semblance of interest in us or what we would like to order. She smeared on the phoniest smile and asked "what would you ladies like to order". We placed our order and she departed. Once she returned with our meal she didn't bother to come back to ask if everything was ok, did we need anything else. Nada! Nothing!. As we were eating Miss middle-aged waitress was constantly attending to two elderly white folks who were sitting right next to us. Not once did she even look our way. I attempted to get her attention but she swiftly disappeared once again. Finally we flagged Carlos because my daughter in law wanted a glass of soda. He came over to us immediately. Only when we were finished eating did Miss middle-aged come back to us to ask if there was anything else she could get us. What!! Her ass didn't pay us no mind but now that we're done she wanna ask us if she can get us anything else. Really! Well with all that said this diner was mediocre at best. In fairness though the food wasn't bad, but the waitress leaves a very sour taste (no pun intended) in my mouth. I have definitely been to better diners with better food and better hospitality. There's way too many choices nowadays then to put up with that blatant disdain and attitude toward people patronizing your restaurant. Lazy ass people like Miss middle-aged need to retire and leave the job for someone else who actually...
Read moreOur negative experience began when making the first phone call for a delivery; A woman answered the phone and told us to "call back in five minutes". Apparently the person to take down orders was out. When we called back a man answered the first item on our order was a broccoli/cheddar wrap. The man on the other line seemed extremely confused, as if he had never heard the word 'broccoli' before and questioned the item with us many times before we finally asked to speak with someone else. We gave our order to the first woman we had spoke with which is when we discovered the prices on their website greatly differs from the prices on Grub Hub and probably the actual real prices in the diner. (example; home fries were 3.15, but on website were 4.50) and one of them said the wrap could come with a side of Greek salad to which we were told was incorrect. If we wanted a salad instead of fries it would be 1.50 extra. Finally, the delivery man brought us our food. He said the woman on the phone forgot to include the 5$ delivery fee?? We told him to discuss that with her... We are not paying 5$ delivery fee because she told us the total bill on the phone. He angrily left after arguing with us that "That's not his fault". We later called management to ask about this and they verified there is NO delivery fee. He was trying to get extra money. Extremely unprofessional. Lastly, the food was sub-par at best. To say we were upset with the service would be an understatement. Don't waste your money, New Hyde Park has many great restaurants, we do not feel Skyline is...
Read moreI just left this diner and I’m disgusted. I order waffle fries that came with hair in it. The waitress was a doll and super apologetic. I sent them back and asked not to have them replaced because let’s be honest I was grossed out. To my surprise the bill came and still had my waffle fries listed. When I brought the bill the the cashier I asked to have the fries removed. she said it wasn’t the kitchens fault and the hair probably came in the bag. What?! I fairly calmly replied ok, but I’m not paying for it. There was hair in my food. She continued to explain how they checked my food and she didn’t know where it came from. I continued to reply that’s fine but I will not pay for food that was sent back with any foreign object let alone someone’s hair. Ultimately they removed it from the bill, but with no apology or accepting of any fault. I will never...
