Terrible Service at Bar Pisellino – Unprofessional and Rude Staff
I recently visited Bar Pisellino in West Village with my wife and family of four, and while I loved the location, the ambiance, and the bar selection, my experience was completely soured by the treatment we received from one of the staff members. The male waiter who initially served us was great—attentive, professional, and everything you’d expect at a place like this. However, my experience took a dramatic turn due to the actions of another staff member.
One of the waitstaff, a woman with a rather stern, unpleasant demeanor, acted in a way that was both rude and uncalled for. Without asking if we were done, she abruptly removed our olives, even though we were clearly still enjoying them. When we politely tried to stop her, she completely ignored us and made us feel invisible. On her way back, we tried again to explain we weren’t finished, but instead of listening or showing basic courtesy, she reacted with unnecessary aggression. Her response was unprofessional, rude, and shockingly dismissive.
What made matters worse was that she instructed our excellent waiter to close out our bill, announcing that we were “done,” without us ever indicating we were ready to leave. Then, in a move that was simply bizarre, she stood outside, waiting for us to finish our drinks before resuming her work. The whole ordeal left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome, like we were being censored for simply asserting our preferences.
It’s a shame that one bad apple can ruin an otherwise fantastic place. If Bar Pisellino wants to maintain a high standard of service, they should seriously consider removing this staff member from their team. Her behavior was not only unprofessional, but it also seemed to reflect a complete disregard for customer experience.
Sadly, this will be my first and last visit to Bar Pisellino unless they make changes. There are plenty of great spots in NYC that know how to treat customers right, and this place could be one of them—if they part ways with...
Read moreI visited Bar Pisellino on Sat, March 9, 2024 in the afternoon and had an extremely disappointing experience due to the behavior of the HOST, a short-haired woman. Firstly, upon entering the busy bar, there was no host present at the entrance, leading to confusion and a disorganized queue. When I attempted to inform the host that I was first in line, she rudely dismissed me, accused me of being challenging, and proceeded to seat others who arrived after me.
Despite finally being seated, the host continued to be disrespectful and condescending. She made unnecessary remarks about my behavior and treated me as if I were a child, which was completely uncalled for and unprofessional.
Furthermore, when I attempted to inquire about potentially joining friends, the host again refused to listen and accused me of causing trouble, demonstrating a complete lack of hospitality and customer service.
Adding to the frustration, I had confirmed with the waiter that ordering two drinks was acceptable, only for the host to later use this as an excuse to accuse me of disobeying the bar's rules. She then took away my drinks and forcibly ejected me from the establishment, despite my attempts to calmly address the situation.
Throughout the interaction, I couldn't help but feel DISCRIMINATED against, particularly as the only Asian woman in the line. The host's behavior from the outset, coupled with her unjustified actions, leads me to believe that her conduct may have been influenced by RACIAL PREJUDICE.
Overall, my experience at Bar Pisellino was marred by the unacceptable behavior of the host. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment due to its lack of respect for customers and potential...
Read moreManager (? Short haired blue eyed woman) was incredibly rude. Loved the drinks and the server though!!
As I stood in line I watched her roll her eyes to other customers whenever any other customer asked for something. Then, when i got to the front of the line she said "meet me inside" i said okay! And walked in. Then she came and said "we have a bit of a wait if you dont mind standing", almost as if she hadnt seen my friend and i yet.. and to me i took it as, if you dont mind standing here while you wait. So then she came back in and sat the people who were behind me in line which confused me. So she said do you guys want this stool and i said oh its just those people were behind us in line. She immediately got defensive with me and was like "WELL i was under the impression you were standing?! I have a wait" i was like woah i mean you told me to follow you inside so i did and we've been waiting for a seat. She then cut me off to say i was yelling at her and was screaming "What is with today is there a full moon what is happening?!" Saying it looking at the bartenders and other tables. I was like miss i wasnt yelling but ok. It was obvious i was not yelling one bit. Then when she finally sat us she didnt say anything or look at us. I was insanely shocked by this interaction. She just doesnt fit the nyc service standard and the other reviews make that clear as well. Not to mention there was a homeless man begging to every single table and she didnt say anything to deter that.
It was all so off putting to such a lovely night and lovely place! If she hadnt been so rude i wouldve been raving about it! I hope you will maybe find someone more suitable to manage an...
