Communication with Carmen was different, you definitely have to have digital $ and WhatsApp to be able to place an order, & don’t try to show up because it’s not a place of business it’s a private home. As for her cake; the reviews were not lying!! I must say her cake was delicious 🤤& all my guess loved it, so moist with the right amount of sweetness… I haven’t had a good cake in so long!

Highly recommended! I would say her prices are average. I will be returning! I just wish I knew of her sooner 😆

EDIT: so I took down 2 star from Carmen because of my 2nd encounter with her was stressful, communication with her was very off, being that she only likes to speak via WhatsAPP messages...

Recently, I place a small order with Carmen for a weekday, the cake wasn't even ready @ the time we originally agreed for, I waited for 2 hours for the cake to be ready, she kept telling me via WhatsApp that she's going to be quick, & she didn't realized the time. She was very unprofessional, all I got was sorry & excuses, how about a discount for having me wait so long?? how about being forward and telling me a time to come back? you just have me there sitting outside waiting. Then she tells me that she didn't know I was outside, it took so much from me not to tell her off.

This order wasn't as tasty as my 1st big order with her, which I originally review ($180 cake vs $50 cake) here's the PROS & CONS w/ this order...

PROS: The cake tasted good, it was moist, the frosting wasn't as sweet, just the right amount.

CONS: The decor looked like it was rushed, there was not enough filling & she cut the cake very unevenly in the middle... Communication was not good, she doesn't know how to tell you that the cake isn't going to be ready, instead has you waiting thinking she's going to be only half an hour

Maybe she caters more to big orders than small ones. I did feel the price was a little high for such a small cake. After this encounter I will not be...

I recently ordered a Dominican cake from this amazing baker for my wife's 34th birthday, and let me tell you, it was Amazing! The cake was super moist and delicious,seriously the best Dominican cake ever. Even my wife's Dominican family couldn't get enough of it! Carmen, the baker, was a total rock star. This was a last-minute request. I called her at 8AM, and by 1:15 PM the cake was ready to go. The only downside was that the cake got a bit lopsided after sitting out for a while at my in-laws place while waiting for guest, it could get quite warm in her home. But that was totally on me for not storing it properly. Despite that, the cake was still a huge hit! Carmen has definitely gained a new fan in me, and now my wife's family can't wait to order from her too. Five stars all the way! Will definitely be doing business with her again. Writing an update to this review. Again Carmen outdid herself by creating a cake for my four year old son‘s birthday. He wanted a transformer theme cake and that’s what we got thank you...
