The Birria Tacos are amazing! There's a food truck in Jackson Heights that's known for their Birria tacos. Pete Wells, food critic from the NY Times, has them on his top 100 restaurants in NY list. Well these Birria Tacos are better! This place fries their taco shells so they hold together and their seasoned so it adds extra flavor. The consumé and the meat is also delicious. The consumé is so good, they offer a Birria Ramen. Yeah, I had to try that. The only thing that makes it a ramen is they stick ramen noodles in it. I would have liked some green onions, garlic chili, miso or something to make it more ramen like but still, it was pretty good (4 stars). I also had their Al Pastor and a Carne Asada taco there, they were pretty good (4 stars). I read the reviews and looked at the photos before I went there and everyone has photos of these smoothies. I can't remember what their called but I had the mango with chili. It was on the pricey side but I had to try it (even though it was in the middle of winter). That was excellent! So yeah, another great find in Woodhaven (Neir's Tavern). Oh, why 3 stars for atmosphere? It's clean and not quite a dive (I love dives), what I didn't appreciate was the loud TVs blaring the basketball game while I was trying to have a conversation with my friend.
