An honest review for an honest burger
I don't know what kind of McDonald's these OTHER reviewers have been going to but this was nothing like McDonald's. My husband and I were returning from a concert and saw this place, it's hard not to. it's lit up to high heaven Hollywood vanity mirror style. We love a good burger, and although it was closed, I kept it in mind to visit this weekend.
Location: The location is small, it gives off a wannabe drive thru roadside burger joint vibe. I dug it. The inside was clean and the menu was easy to read. Prices were okay for what you get.
Burger: The burgers are in NO WAY like McDonald's or White Castle. Again, where have these other reviewers been going?? I thought they tasted great and they are not "super thin" they are only slightly thinner than an average Five Guys burger patty. I concede though i couldn't fathom getting one burger patty, the meat to bread ratio would be messed up. I liked the bread it was just right.
They were well seasoned, but you still get the flavor of the meat. it reminded me very much of early Five Guys, before every location became a game of minesweeper. it stated on menu that the burgers come with ketchup, pickles and onions. I skipped onions on my double quarter pounder w/ bacon, but my husband says the ONLY similarity to White Castle or McDonald's is that the onions are chopped small and steamed. They were fresher than either of those establishments.
Their pickles were AMAZING with a strong dill flavor and crunch. I loved them. The bacon too was excellent, reminded me of what you get at the goooood deli for your bacon, egg, and cheese, lol. The cheese was standard American cheese but in no way similar to Kraft singles.
overall we were very pleased with the burger. they aren't "wrapped in foil for some reason" it is foil PAPER meaning foil outside, paper inside.
Fries: I had a bit more issue with the fries. for one they gave off an old grease smell which was unpleasant. They tasted okay. in no way did they taste like Checkers or Five Guys because those places have flavorful fries. These were on the low end of okay. they definitely could have used some salt, and looked battered and then fried.
They reminded me of plain unsalted potato chips even though they didn't taste of actual potato. idk they were weird and I wouldn't order them again. my husband liked them though. they come with a little cup of ketchup and a little cup of a ketchup-y honey mustard sauce which was really good. they REALLY need to clean their grease trap though.
Drinks: We got drinks in paper cups which threw me off but I isn't too out of the ordinary. They offer shakes, but are right across from a Carvel ice cream shop, so I don't know why anyone would grab a shake there when there's CARVEL , lol.
I liked it. I'll be going back. I had never heard of this chain so there was no "hype" beforehand, just a good quick burger.
if that's what you want, that's...

The scampi is to die for, I literally could have just eaten that and gone home happy, the accompanying garlic bread was nice too. The game was on and it was quiet, just how I like it. The waitress was very patient and accomodating. The portions are definitely worth the price, a more than satisfying quality and quantity-- after all, we do eat with our eyes too! The decor and homely feel kept me looking around to find cool and amusing New York culture memorabilia. The food was served promptly, with care and the presentation really reassures you that here they pay atrention to the little things, the important details that elevate the experience (I loved the edible flowers). The chicken parmesan was flavourful, moist and its saltiness paired well with the creamy pesto penne and crunchy fresh salad. The steak was yummy and cooked exactly as requested and the chunky chips tasted great with the skin on, nice and crispy! The desert was a pavlova which usually I don't go for, but was crunchy and fruity-- a nice end to a very pleasing dinner. The espresso at the end was good quality; I definitely would recommend any food lovers and hungry pedestrians to come visit! Loved my time there, had lots of laughs and felt like I was taken care of the night. 10/10 would go back, and with friends and family! (I also tasted their lasagne and it took me back to my mom's cooking... nostalgic...

When I opened my bag, I was missing the large coke I ordered.I called and asked to be credited for the coke, because by the time the driver would come all the way back, my dinner would have been finished. Spoke to the manager, told him I wanted refund,he said no refunds were issued, he Would send the guy back with my Coke. I told him I didn’t want the Coke because my meal is going to be over he insisted again they just don’t do refunds but for somebody who gets couldn’t give me a credit, he told me if I went down there he would give me a credit or refund or whatever. Saw bad reviews about almost the same issue, but against my better judgment I ordered anyway.. First and the last time I’m using this place. They have very bad customer service, and I would tell anybody going there. this was their mistake, for not checking the order when it left. I will also be posting my review on Seamless and Grubhub,...
