Our fridge broke and as we dropped off my daughter at YU to grab a shuttle we figure let's check out this place. Very clean and spacious for a NYC place. There was a manager. As he was about to take the person in front of me . He just took off! We all figured he went to get something or needed to use bathroom. The chef a super nice woman asked if she could take our order which she did. Everything seemed to be out on Saturday night that's understandable. But when the manager came back 10 mins later he seemed more upset at us for waiting then taking our order. I tried to compliment the place no go . The phone was ringing off the hook. We hoped the food would be better my kid and I ordered something for both . The guy messed up the order and then swapped bags so my kid got the wrong order. I really had hope for this place . I get that university students are hard to deal with but two doors a way where we usually eat when we drop off. Was twice as packed and he was smiling and working to get the orders out. I wish I would have grabbed something but my fridge was broken. The prices are not cheap ok it's NYC. But I wasn't going back over the bridge to complain to the same manager who really seemed like he didn't want to be there. I have to figure a cross the street from YU. There would be tons of students looking to make money. Why pick this person? Just wanted to give a heads up save next customer $50...
Read moreOk food but be prepared for the poor customer service and dining experience, in addition to high prices. I got the chicken tenders and cajun fries, the food took a while to come out and the pick up system is horrible. The guy just yells crispy chicken, everyone gets some form of crispy chicken, they could greatly benefit from giving customers numbers and calling those. I waited for 30 mins and neither the fries nor the tenders were cajun so I had to wait for the order to be remade. After taking a look at my receipt i noticed that the chicken tenders and the fries after adding the $1 charge for cajun came out to be nearly the same (I got both small, I'm not sure how the large works out). Once I got to the counter and got my food and was asked what sauces I wanted i was informed there was a 2 sauce limit, this seems to apply no matter what you order be it a large or a small, ten items or one. Paying $5 for fries, I was not expecting to be nickel and dimed on sauce, a staple of any chicken tender meal if you ask me. The place was busy, juggling a lunch rush and a influx of online orders, and the guy who works the register would periodically go behind the food counter to help it seemed, not sure if he touched food, but after handling money and credit cards, I wouldn't want those hands near my food. The tenders were dry and chewy and likely from a bag bought frozen and the cajun fries...
Read moreI ordered from this kosher establishment just to try out the food again. The first of two items was a (6-piece) chicken wing deep fried slathered with sweet chili sauce. Delightfully delicious and perky pieces for an appetizer fixing— I liked. But the zMexican Burrito really fell apart trying to eat it, wedged between leaves of cold iceberg lettuce, unflavored plain white rice, canned black beans, and kosher ground beef. Tasteless. Only if eaten by itself. I ate half which was all that could be stomached. Terrible terrible choices. Would not hesitate to rethink ordering again, for that kind of money being wasted on starving for something radically more filling and...
