We live in the area, but are a bit out of the delivery range. My mother doesn't eat pork and was interested, so she called this restaurant a few times in the past. The man who answered was always friendly, but confirmed that they couldn't deliver to our address, so after a doctor's appointment one day, we decided to stop by for a take out order.
The place looked nice and was pretty empty outside of two diners and employees, but the vibe was off as soon as we walked in. There was no greeting, and the woman at the counter looked like she couldn't be bothered - almost like she was upset and/or distracted. I placed my order and waited while my mother sat at a table. A man, who I assumed was the chef brought our order out and greeted us with a smile, but there was another man walking around that started looking at my order and over my shoulder while I was talking to my mother. Super uncomfortable.
That being said, the current political climate is uneasy, and this restaurant represents two communities that have had an uptick in being targeted. I can understand being a tad nervous with new customers, but I would hate to think that we were given the sentiment we were due to our race. The food is Glatt Kosher so expect to pay a bit more than usual. Overall, we were satisfied with the food, but I spent over $100 on food for three people, and was polite, so I was disappointed in the lack of customer service. We won't...
Read moreIn short they ghosted my family for dinner after confirming delivery and left us with no food at 7pm.
They were going to a delivery to DC and I was excited to try. Before Shabbat, my wife texted them an order as requested by their flyer. She received a text back "confirmed" and then motzei shabbat a text with the pickup locations (see photos).
They arrived at the pickup location 20+ minutes late. When they arrived, they didn't have an organized way of determining who's food was who's. They had "ticket Numbers" but not everyone had one. Eventually 3-4 different people still didn't have their orders. They then asked if we got a call, none of us had - they said "sorry, we had so many orders we only brought the ones we called." This was never stated in any of their advertisements.
They shouldn't have said "confirmed" if it wasn't confirmed. And if they were canceling orders, they could have had the decency to inform people sooner than 30 minutes AFTER pickup.
No one should use them for delivery until they adopt a modern ordering system like Toast so they can't just say "oups."
I've never given a one star rating before but I'd give them zero stars if it...
