Today I had a bad experience with the local employer. I was curious about the place since it looked pretty nice but the customer service is terrible. Normally I don't like writing reviews but I had to. I ordered a lentil soup, I didn't know it came with another dish and when I saw the girl who works there and I apologized to her and asked her nicely if I could get it to go and she said no. . I asked her if it was possible to give me a container to go pack it myself and she told me it was 5 cents, to which I told her it was fine if she could sell me the container. Then I was waiting for her to bring me the container and she never brought it to me, I looked at her waiting, she looked at me but ignored me so I decided to get up and ask for the container again and she told me again that it is 5 cents I gave her the 5 cents and she I asked if you could tell me what the desserts were called since they looked delicious and I would like to try them. She responded with attitude and I just looked at her. Once I order the desserts to go, she heads to my table to pack up the food. that there was leftover on my table and she approaches the counter and starts yelling at me that it's $14 dollars running and I responded that I'm going again, she yells at me again that it's $14 dollars and I got angry and I told her that I was going to pay her so she could please me I stopped finishing packing my food, but she kept rushing me. Anyway, I left the place and now that I'm home sharing the dessert I brought with my husband, one of the desserts already had mold inside and I...
Read moreUpdated: Let me start off by saying that I've been supporting this business since the day it opened. Even during the pandemic I would go once a week. I sometimes come 2 to 3 times a week. One of the lady there even know me by now and we always chat whenever she sees me (this post is not about her). So today I came to eat lunch as usual. I was very hungry so I literally finished my plate in 5 minutes time. I was finishing my drink when one of the staff came and took my empty plate. I was checking my phone for a second when she comes back and ask me to leave because supposedly someone was waiting for the table. I look behind me and see some seats were available. 2 ladies who work there were occupying the table next to me and sat BEFORE me. They had just finished their shift, but working myself in the restaurant industry for years I know how to treat customers and if anything if I was them I would have given my seat. I was choked and in complete disbelief. How can you ask a loyal customer to leave after literally ben sitting there for 5min is beyond rude?????????!!!!!! Especially when the signs on the wall ask you to occupy the table for a max of 30min. I'm talking 5 min guys! I loved this place but after being treated so poorly, I doubt I will ever be coming back.
Previous review that I had ranked 5 stars: I've been coming to Cafe de Colombia since they opened and they never once disappointed me. From their lunch special to their Colombian breads and pastries. Everything in here is fresh and taste delicious....
Read moreI had today at this business on 12/23/24 at 9pm. Ms. Marcela took my order that was for my elderly mother and my hearing impaired 8 year old daughter. She questioned if we had seats and my elderly mother was the only one seating as the Cafe had no other seats. I let the Ms. Marcela know what was the problem if my elderly mother is the only one with a seat and my child could share the seat with her. Ms. Marcela stated that my order had to be to go as we didn’t have seats. I requested to speak with the manager in which she went ahead to state this person is not there and handed me a business card. She went ahead and disregarded my order and never asked or acknowledged if I still wanted to keep my order. I told her the lack of customer service was unacceptable. Her dismissive behavior was disrespectful and that she had no right to even deny me the right to purchase. Please note as I observed the cafe bakery restaurant which is small, there were no signs that stated that if there is no seats available you could not stay to eat pastry/ beverage. Also there were no signs of capacity. It’s sad how elderly people and children with impaired are disregarded in these types of places and feel discriminated. Furthermore it’s sad to see how much New York City has changed and how disrespectful employees in cafe/bakery/restaurant could be and expect customers to just accept this type of behavior. I believe if this place has all these types of stipulations there should be signs that indicate this as this is very misleading to...
