Update as of 8/25/24:
Wow, never would I imagine I get the exact same experience as the reviewer Pow Surfer from 2 years ago that mentioned how customer service here is deplorable, rude and that "they will make it your mistake when it was actually their "ears" not hearing correctly."
Whomever both cashiers (male staff with glasses and another one that had no facial expression) that worked on Aug 25, 2024 around 1pm needs retraining on customer service and get off their high horse because they were very pushy this afternoon. One had a pompous ‘queen’ attitude while the other is probably someone who doesn’t want to be at that job cuz he was not very responsive and looked unenthusiastic.
Despite me speaking fluent Spanish they were so cold and unwelcoming. When I asked how many minutes, the gay cashier mumbled 15 minutes so I asked again, "15?" (Mind you I have excellent pronunication and speak 5 languages) and that is when the pompous server with his heavily accented English who misheard me and raised his voice and yelled like 50!?!? FIFTH-TEEN!!! That alone is a sign.
When I came back to pick up my food, there was a new cashier guy so I told him I'm picking up my food. He asked for my name and if I paid. I said yes out of habit (since I always pay upfront when I do takeout but the pompous cashier dude told me to pay when I pick up my food) but quickly said Oh no, I didn't, let me pay. Then, from a distance, the pompous cashier starts approaching the cash register and asks in Spanish to the other cashier "Se pago?" like if I was trying to do a dine and run type of situation.
As a foodie, I took the time to come all the way from my condo in Hudson Yards to Queens to get my Uruguayan parilla and to support local minority businesses but not sure if I’ll return now, the customer service is just not there...only when they want 5 star reviews as it seems. And this my folks is how minority businesses go down, they simply don’t care about non Latino customers eating there because most of the people they serve to are those that perpetually say ‘NO ENGLISH’ and shove "Espanol" onto your faces, and refuse to assimilate into U.S. society. Food is still good but customer service, whether you dine in or takeout is a disaster it seems and unwilling to change and only 'MATTERS" when it's about wanting 5...

Read moreAmazing food and very lovely staff. They have replaced pur old time favorite and purely the staff. Then when we tried the food it became both. They value your time and truly live to provide top notch service and quality food. I can't wait to dine indoor after this is all over. They make everything be a breeze, from answering your questions about the prices over phone for catering to ensuring you have everything in your order and ensuring everyone wears their mask while waiting for seating.
Love love this place.
I won't say the name of the other restaurant that we (my family) replaced BUT the place is nearby and same cuisine (if you know you know). They'd tell you there is no reservation but the friend of someone made a reservation and get a table (pre covid) then the wait time is ridiculous. They have NO PATIENCE for children and specially if yours is special needs (on the spectrum). Also if the waiter has a bad day YOU WILL BE AT THE END OF IT in every aspect of the service. Gotta repeat your order twice, ask for things constantly it is like asking your parent for something. The staff can be amazing and other times terrible. They will not pick up calls and on take out apps they don't even let you know they are not...
