Would go back for their Oni-Croissants!
FAMILY FRIENDLY: Yes PARKING: Tiny tiny parking lot… like 5 parking spaces in front of there cafe PET FRIENDLY: No
FOOD: Plain Croissant $4.25: 5 Stars – Flaky, buttery, and oh so good
Ham and Cheese Croissant $4.75: 3 Stars – Needs more filling and not as great as plain croissant
Oni-Croissant: Mayo and Pollack Roe $6.50: 5 Stars – maybe because I had low expectation since most filled anything thing doesn’t come with a lot. There was definitely plenty of filling in this! I love the idea of this which was the reason I wanted to try this place. The exterior was good but because it was compressed it wasn’t as flaky as a normal croissant.
Oni-Croissant: Chive, Bacon, and cream cheese $6.50: 5 Stars – Fillings galore!! Still loved it even though this was a touch too creamy which is funny coming from me.
Garlic Butter Baguette $7.50: 3 Stars – I grabbed this as it was something I always wanted to try due to all those viral videos. There was a touch of sweetness which I did not enjoy. I like my savory to be savory. Everyone else seem to really like it though!
Burnt Basque Cheesecake $8.00: 5 Stars - Creamy and custardy! I only had Basque cheesecake once and I didn’t enjoy it. I got this on a whim to see if the one I had previously was just poorly made or if I just hate all Basque cheesecake.
Earl Greg Cassis Mousse (layer of earl grey chestnut cream, cassis confit, earl grey mousse and biscuit) $12.55: 3 Stars – I mean look at it! It looks so perfect and unassuming. I love chestnut and black current/cassis so I was really excited. Which probably was why I was a little disappointed. There was different texture like it should in an entremets but the lack of chestnut and earl grey was very lacking.
DRINK: Black Sesame Cream Latte, Hot $6.75: I’ve been on a hunt for good black sesame cream latte but sadly I need to keep looking. Barely taste the black sesame.
MENU, RESTAURANT, and SERVICE: The offering at the café did not have everything shown on their website. The majority of the café is self service for the bakery items but you would need to order from them for any of the refrigerated items (cakes) and coffees.
The restaurant is pretty spacious for how little tables they have set up. I believe they have a second floor but I have not been up there. Very clean and minimalistic.
There was only one person I spoke with and he was friendly...
Read moreIt was the worst experience I've ever had, despite being a frequent shopper at this store. I ordered a strawberry chocolate milkshake at 1:30 this afternoon. I waited at the checkout for several minutes before someone finally took my order. Despite waiting for five minutes, my drink wasn't ready, even though many people in line behind me had all already received theirs.
I approached the front desk to inquire about my order's status, and I was told it would take 2-3 minutes. However, I ended up waiting for more than 10 minutes before my drink was ready. The drink turned out to be excessively sweet and difficult to consume. After a few sips, I decided not to continue.
I'm perplexed as to why my order, placed first, was among the last to be fulfilled. Additionally, I was misled about the estimated wait time. If the staff is overwhelmed with orders, it would be preferable for them to communicate that rather than providing inaccurate information. It was frustrating to witness new customers in line receiving their orders while mine was delayed. If the staff feels overwhelmed with the number of orders, please do not claim to be too busy to prepare my drink while simultaneously serving a new batch of people in line.
I have never experienced such a lengthy wait for a drink, and to make matters worse, the final product was not enjoyable. This entire ordeal wasted my time...
Read more@cafewbakery 🚨New In Flushing🚨 . Newly bakery/cafe in Flushing. It’s not located in the heart of downtown flushing though. It’s not hard to get to if you drive or take the bus. If you want to walk, it’s like 25 mins walk, which isn’t too too bad but on a nice cool(er) day… . It is a very spacious 2 story cafe. I was shocked how spacious the 2nd level was, and there’s even an outside seating area. . . almond chocolate croissants… they also offer shaved ice (bingsoo), soft serve and of course coffee/drinks… basically, something for everyone… . . According to their IG, they are known for their salted butter bread and mousse cakes. Their fancier pasties are on the higher price point, but they are very pretty. I so wanted to try their croissants but I was way too full as is and it’s not something you can save for the next morning, I want to be able to try it when it’s fresh or at least eat it the same day it was made… . They have a variety of pastries. We got there around 4 or so, so most of the baked goods were sold out. They have savory items like cheese/garlic buns as well as sweet pastries like almond chocolate croissants… they also offer shaved ice (bingsoo), soft serve and of course coffee/drinks… basically, something for everyone… . I did get their yogurt mango mousse cake. It was very good. The mousse was very light. It’s...
