2019 Update: Rumor has it that Jongro has undergone a recent ownership change. However, we have not observed any noticeable change in service or quality despite what some has reported. The same crew of servers are still around and the meat is still just as high of quality.
We discovered Jongro after first visiting the Manhattan location (K-Town) with some friends. So glad we have Jongro in Flushing as well. This is not an AYCE place, for an AYCE KBBQ, please see Picnic Garden. Things will get quite expensive if you want to get full off of top quality meat cooked by your server. Yes, you get a dedicated server that will grill your meat for you. The fact that I can actual enjoy my KBBQ and not having to cook is already worth the additional cost. Not to mention, they have 2 draft beers on tap that they will happily serve to you in a pitcher format, and a large selection of soju. The ventilation system is excellent so we never have issues with smelling like meat after coming out of Jongro. If you are truly concerned about your coat, the front desk will be happy to check your coat for you. Our usual order is the beef platter, but recently we tried their new item, the marinated beef belly. OMG! The beef belly was lightly coated with a demi-glaze. We usually avoid marinated meats (as it indicates lower quality meat), but this was clearly fresh beef belly drizzled with the glaze. Once grilled, these turn into the definition of "meat candy"... I'm drooling just thinking about it. There are other food items on the menu to go with all that meat, which are all decent. The decor of this place is quite interesting, including the interesting Korean phrases with English translation right underneath. The service is superb, but just in case you need something and your server is not around, the service button...

First off, I barely write reviews, but this place influenced me to change that! If anyone wants a thorough review, please follow.
PRICE: First off, they have fair price range. Guys!! This is BBQ, we all know this is going to be a bit pricy. But I say this is on the fair range, because they offer good combo menus. Beef combo, Pork combo, Chicken combo and they also have marinated meat combo menus. They also offer two different serving sizes. The regular combo menu is enough for 2-3 person. (I believe it started from $50-75 range depending on the type of meat) So you cant estimate spending $30-45 per person, which is not bad for a bbq dinner with all different kind of side dishes. And remember! you can always ask for more side dishes.
ENVIORNMENT/AREA: They have a PARKING LOT available!! Open late night. They have a nice interior that is good for family gathering or even casual business meetings.
STAFF/SERVICE: Okay this is the best part that I want to share. Jongro is crazy busy most of the time. But you can see how hard it is to keep it up to every customer, but this guy JOE was insanely professional on keeping the customer satisfied. He knew what we needed before we even got a chance to say something! This guy was very thorough on explaining the ingredients and supporting the fresh quality of meat! and spreading along his bright energy spreading with all the other staff members with positive attitudes and respect for the customers. Business is hard! But I the management here really knows what...
Read moreWent there last Saturday and got the WORST Korean BBQ experience EVER!!!!!!! We ordered beef tongue and the marinated USDA beef platter (3 different kinds of beef). The Korean waiter does not speak English well and only understands simple words like "wash", "raw", "meat". The beef tongue was extremely tough. We did not report that and had him cook the platter. Take a look at the first pic, that's what a grill looks like. It was burned into a large hole so that most of fell off to the fire(second pic). We reported to him - However, he picked the meat up on to a new grill and started cooking again!!! Didn't he notice that the meat became dark on a single side? We reported again and he offered to make up - 3 tiny meat (third pic). The second kind of beef was cooked as in pic four (so disgusting). Later, he cooked the final kind of beef. Guess what, the outsider was burnt while the insider was still raw. He could not understand what "burnt" meant and only understood "raw" - so he just tried to cut it in half and cook again!!! (fifth pic) He did know nothing about cooking meat!!! He did not understand that overcooked meat could even cause CANCER!!! We could not stand it and reported to his fellows and manager immediately. Later we got a new waiter and finally had something eatable. DO NOT GO TO THIS JONGRO LOCATION IF YOU REALLY WANNA TRY...
