A friend of mine gave me a gift card from in my birthday for this Caffè. The card is well designed with an elegant presentation. I was really excited to try out Caffè De Martini so here we are in the Caffè: The atmosphere was amazing and it sounded so right. The first bummer was a “no smile, grim expression” mode by the cashier who took my order. I asked the cashier to check the balance of my gift card meanwhile I was looking at the menu. surprisingly the cashier got a marker pen and wrote the balance on my gift card just next to the nice birthday wishes/message that my friend’s wrote!!!! I was actually shocked of the lack of etiquette and being inconsiderate to ruin the card by writing on it I stayed calm and waited until I order, afterwards I told the cashier that you shouldn’t write on any gift card anything at all for the sake of future customers. It’s a nice memory from my friend but now there an ugly irrelevant addition to my birthday card!!
To be fair in my review, the rest of the staff were amazing with big smiles and welcoming attitude.
The real deal is the coffee + food:
I ordered iced latte & Granola bowl. The latte was fine. The second bummer was the granola bowl. The presentation of the granola bowl was so good but unfortunately it didn’t elevate to a good taste. The granola texture was like a wet sponge as it seemed poorly stored and exposed to excessive heat and humidity with a rusty taste! So I had to eat only the berries. I didn’t want to replace my order as I feard getting sick and ruining other weekend plans.
Long story short, I’m greatly disappointed of the experience. probably it’s the first & last time to visit...
Read moreI saw a good Google rating and decided to get a coffee, expecting a high quality espresso given Italy's renowned coffee culture. The sky blue door and matching outdoor seating were cute. The Vespa parked outside was iconic, aligning with their culture; whether ridden or purely for aesthetic purposes, we liked it. I also liked the hand written aesthetic of the menus and outdoor signage. While the fake flower gate situation was a bit tacky, I understood their artistic intention.
Upon entering, it was packed. We had hoped to find a seat to try their bread or pastry, as the cannoli, other pastries, and breads looked really good. But due to the crowd, we opted for drinks to go. Although outdoor seating was available, it was raining, so patrons were gathered inside the covered booth area. It is indeed a popular spot.
My friends and I ordered the cold brew, iced pistachio latte, hot latte, and hot Americano. The Americano was good, confirming my initial positive bias. The iced pistachio latte was interesting; it did taste of pistachio but was too sweet for my preference. While I have not tried the cold brew or hot latte, my friends seemed satisfied with their choices.
Service was also good. They greeted us with a smile and were prompt in getting the drinks ready, likely due to the small space.
There is no public bathroom available, so I would advise stopping by a restroom before your visit.
Overall, the drinks were good, but I do not think I would return just for the coffees since seating seems competitive. However, I do want to try their other food and pastry options when I...
Read moreI was visiting Brooklyn for a week and was so fortunate to find this amazing gem just around the corner from our house. Italy has been our favorite destination to travel to over the years and the idea of finding a bit of that in Brooklyn sounded so promising. The experience begins with Stefano and Camila. You will not find better hosts around. It came full circle when I tried my first sip of my cappuccino and was immediately transported back to Tuscany. After that, it was time to try the food to complete the journey. A broccoli and cheddar quiche put it over the edge! Absolute heaven. I proceeded to visit daily throughout my trip, looking forward to the perfect cappuccino, variety of quiches and most importantly, the wonderful conversation with Stefano and Camila. I will literally dream about this place. My only complaint is that they are not in Los Angeles! :) If you are anywhere near here, you must go. You will...
