Campos Grill in Brooklyn is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to dining experiences. Nestled in the heart of the borough, the restaurant offers a range of Mexican dishes, but not all of them hit the mark.
During my recent visit, I decided to try their carnitas burrito, hoping for a flavorful and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, it left much to be desired. The burrito was unevenly cooked, with one side being overly wet, making it difficult to handle and enjoy. The center was cold, which was a letdown, especially when you're anticipating a warm, hearty filling. To add to the disappointment, the meat was gristly, detracting from the overall texture and taste of the dish.
The interior of Campos Grill is also a point of contention. The layout is somewhat odd, making navigation a bit challenging. It's not the most inviting space, and one might feel a bit out of place or cramped while dining.
Another noticeable issue was the service. It's unclear whether the restaurant was understaffed on the day of my visit or if they were overwhelmed with online orders, but the attention to in-house diners seemed lacking. Waiting times were longer than expected, and there was a palpable sense of rush and chaos.
However, it's not all gloom and doom at Campos Grill. On the brighter side, their pricing is quite reasonable, making it an affordable option for those looking for budget-friendly dining. Additionally, their corn tacos are a redeeming feature. They were delicious, well-prepared, and a stark contrast to the burrito experience.
In conclusion, Campos Grill has potential but needs to address certain issues to provide a consistent and enjoyable dining experience. If you decide to give it a try, I'd recommend sticking to the corn tacos and perhaps avoiding the...
Read moreI’m beyond disappointed and I question the validity of the many stellar ratings this place has. Firstly, my order took an hour to be delivered despite being just five blocks from the restaurant. In hindsight, I would have preferred the delivery not shown up at all. Secondly, the food was poorly and lazily prepared. The tacos are essentially empty. The bbq chicken quesadilla consists of questionable bland chicken, with the only flavor coming from the Kraft-like bbq sauce that is not at all cooked with the chicken, but rather just smeared atop the quesadilla- as if it were an afterthought. The vegetarian burrito (with its sticky overcooked rice) was the only edible thing in the order, and it made me sick,so. A waste of hard earned money.

Read moreIt was the first time we ate at this wonderful restaurant! The staff, including the servers and cooks, are super friendly! The food is simply delicious, and the portions are more than generous. The simple salad that comes with the enchiladas is sooooo fresh. It is quite obvious that the tortillas are made from scratch, as is the flavorful beef filling. We had the grandkids with us, and although the indoor seating was small, it was comfortable for us. You will see us next time we come visit the family in Brooklyn. Muchisimos gracias! Thanks so very very much from the...
