Soul Food & Sea Food — Restaurant in New York

Again, I am hanging with my cousin, looking for some food on Labor Day. Stumbled upon this spot. As soon as I walked in , I recognized the lady and tried to place her. Her family owns a few eateries around Brooklyn. However, I ordered BBQ wingettes, peas n rice, collard greens, and yams with macaroni salad on the side. There was no cornbread, now you know i needs my cornbread, lol. She threw in some cakes n pies. I had enough food for 3 people. My order was very affordable, and the food was OK. The greens could have used a lil mo seasoning. Nothing a lil hot sauce can't do to help. I love sweet potatoes anything, but i didn't like the pie they have or the cake. Take a lil mo time and love ❤️ with those things I'd mentioned. It was close to closing, and they had a substantial amount of food left.maybe that's why I had a lot of food in my plate. She mentioned that the whole family was closing all the stores down at one time in 30 years to go on a much needed vacation for 2 weeks. Edit 12/20/22 I have now been overcharged twice by the same young lady in the front. I’ve been told the prices listed on the menu have increased a few months ago, then they were back to the normal listed price, and now they’ve increased again. There are no signs posted regarding an increase in prices or prices being subject to change. I’m positive the young lady is pocketing the extra money. There needs to be a supervisor there at all times or give out itemized receipts. The food isn’t that great to deal with being overcharged multiple times.

Disappointed and slighted. The man before me was a dollar short and the woman let him go. Cool. I’m paying for my food an I count my change and I’m a dollar short. The woman tells me the prices went up. Hmm ok. There is no signage nor did she tell me or any of the people before me. After deciding on a second choice because they were out of everything I get home home to find I have tough and over cooked onion rings instead of fries.
