Trip of a lifetime! Exactly what I wanted with minimal to no stress and time consumed on planning. I reached out to Jake at Tree Top Journeys looking for him to put together a trip for me. I knew what type of trip I wanted but had no idea what the options were. I also had some dietary needs that made detailed planning a bit more important for me. He immediately sent me back simple questions about length of time for trip, distance I wanted to travel, time of year, and what terrain I was hoping to cover. We met up for coffee for him to better understand what type of traveler I was and I loved Jakes vibe. He listened to my answers, addressed my concerns and gathered the information he needed. He gave a few options of locations I wanted to see and I picked. A week later I had a full itinerary for a 12 day bicycle trip, covering 615 miles of incredibly scenic terrain from NYC to Pittsburg. Every day was planned down to the food options at each stop along the way. This was the most carefree and enjoyable adventure.

Now the adventure itself. Jake decided he too wanted to join me on this perfect trip he put together for me. We took 12 days and covered the miles planned for us. Meals were taken care of and all my dietary needs were not a point of stress for one moment. We rocked the trip and I also think that I may have found a great friend in the process. If you happen to live or are visiting New York, I highly recommend booking the unique hiking and outdoor, elevated dinner experience that Jacob’s company, Treetop Journeys, offers. We were a party of seven, and Jacob picked us up from our rental, in a super comfortable cruiser, and chatted away with us as we drove to Nyack Beach State Park. Along the way, he offered us drinks and snacks, and shared stories. He is super personable! Once we arrived we hiked a gorgeous trail that took a few hours, and he made a point to take pics of our group along the way. At the bottom of the trail, right by the water, we were met by the most wonderful chef, who had curated a menu based on our preferences. We sat down at a beautiful table, where we were presented with a five course experience, with each course being carefully paired with wine. Everything - from the freshly baked focaccia to the curry panna cotta was spectacular. Chef Cameo Fucci is simply outstanding. I have been to NYC many times, and she goes toe to toe with the big names that cook in that city. Once we wrapped up dinner, Jacob drove us back home, and followed up the next day to see how we were all doing, and shared some great recommendations for things to see and do in the city.This experience was the highlight of our trip, and I know that if you book it, you won’t regret it. This was an experience of a lifetime. We were picked up and driven to the campsite in a comfortable passenger van. The driver stopped for us to get snacks along the way. Once we arrived to the farm, we were greeted with specialty cocktails and got settled into our tents. Each tent was decorated with antiques which made the stay even more cozy.

Once we got situated we took a tour and learned about the style and processes used to maintain an all organic farm.

Next we replenished our cocktails and took a seat at a gorgeous table set in the middle of the property. The chef introduced each plate to us using ingredients from the farm. After 5 courses we headed up to the hammock park for a fireside wind-down before bed.

The sleeping pads were so comfortable and I slept like an absolute baby. In the morning we were served breakfast, and taken on an excursion. We drove to a lake nearby to spend the day on rafts and canoes.

We returned to a second night of cocktails and a farm to table dinner by the chef. By this time, the entire group had become a family. It was hard to say goodbye when we returned to the city.
