I had two very different experiences at the very same location within a three day time frame. The time frame pays homage to the EXCELLENT Service I received on my first visit, Sunday early eve. after a great day spent at the Beach and that should paint the picture for those who love ambience + tranquility! But really, who doesn't desire that? Well, after much time given to where to have dinner(the perfect day doesn't include me ending it perched over a stove top cooking especially when we're a couple and only us for me to cook for),that's emphatically expressed in a loving manner of course, We chose Chipotle! Why there? Well in a Burrito I can get a full days amount of everything my body is supposed to have as suggested by the Internet, and they don't lie about such things as Health?!?! BTW: I'm a 55yr.old True Blonde w/ natural Silver Streaked Hair which gets more stunning by the day, I'm not an air-head for those who might've started to worry. But Chipotle is a GREAT OPTION TO CHOOSE FROM and I've never been disappointed, that is until that third day, Wednesday! That Dreaded Wednesday! Nothing was as it was on my previous visit and I find that so hard to fathom. Not to mention the add'l expense I incurred based upon my " EXPECTATIONS "in which I even overlooked my own rule of "no expectations,no disappointments motto! It's a good one to live by and I apply it to all Food Services regardless of it being Four Stars to a Wishing on a Star Eatery and no one is exempt.I typically enjoy them all. But,it was the Employees at Chipotle that ruined the overall outcome with their ability to be Ignorant in a very ( I hope to be) Skilled Blissful Manner shared by all Staff from start to finish. I had to repeat my burrito choices many times which included having to reiterate what I didn't ask for etc. Asking for a "FORK" was not an easy or enjoyable task for those who get the gist, with my having a Southern Accent it can alter my words and in this instance a"FORK"can be humiliating and I'm sure that anyone like myself born in 'South Brooklyn' and replanted onto Staten Island in 1971 at age 7 way before it was the popular thing to do will undoubtedly understand the embarrassment I endured on that Wednesday. The Sunday prior was exceptional, the Staff were enthusiastic and eager to suggest some combinations I wouldn't have considered, but they worked, they weren't in a rush to rush me out, they made the online offers available to everyone behind me waiting to order but like I said, they didn't push me and I know enough to cut to the chase and hope for the best in lieu of my choice of ingredients. I wish I knew the names of the two young Men that were more than adequate, which reflected on the other Staff and the whole operation was met with expectations I didn't even know I held at that high of a level. I will go back to see if either of the them are working and indirectly get the name of the other as well in case he's not working without raising any Flags or cause for Concern by any implied Stranger Danger. I am afterall the Mother of a '24'yr.old Son and the most Beautiful little 11yr. Old in the World! She is my Favorite but it's no secret to the Son, lol. She stole my Heart from the moment I became her Mommy and has been a repeat offender everyday that's passed since I was BLESSED with my "BUBALAH" whom I've named CHANEL. For the Perfection that defines her,and for being 'Priceless', not to be PRETENTIOUS. She wouldn't stay in her Big Bag to carry Her in, plus all the Unconditional Love which gets heavy after 11yrs. Lol.So I've been carrying her in my arms and I would only Dare to Compare her to the one other object I would want on my arm all day, everyday, and that would be a Chanel. There's no better so why not give My Lil'Girl, the name of the Best of the Best, hence my Maltese,CHANEL. She was always the only Chanel to hang on my arm all these loving years and will be until I buy a Stroller(Soon). So While Chipotle's Food wasn't an issue,The Staff needs to be overhauled.IGNORANCE was on their Menu and BLISS was the...
Read moreWhere to begin. JUST STARTING OFF WITH A BIG NO FOR THOSE WHO DONT WANNA READ A LONG REVIEW BUT, for your sake just don't go to this chipotle. Throwing your 9 dollars in a trash can would be a more effective use of your money than getting a burrito at this location.
Someone contact guinesse because I'm sure it's a record for the most people working in an establishment without the slightest clue how do to scoop something into a tortilla.
There was absolutely no communication between those in the kitchen and those handing the food, so a lot of the things were running out without being refilled. The workers would tell eachother they were almost out of a certain ingredient, but not the kitchen workers. Big problem. This is probably why I got barely any rice or beans.
Main issue is the slowness and seemingly lack of any type of awareness to anything going on. The worker doing my salsa and sour cream didn't know which salsas are which (there are only three) and almost gave me three full scoops of sour cream(the most of any ingredient I had received combined).
Now to the issue that put the nail in this chipotle coffin.... The burrito wrapper. If you want to go to this chipotle so badly that you cannot be persuaded otherwise, go in with the expectation that you're burrito will not be folded. At all. The girl used two.... TWO tortillas on not just my order, but my boyfriends, even though There was barely anything even in my burrito to require one to be insufficient! I had a very hard time wrapping (too emotionally shattered for that pun to be intended) my head around it and just starred at my food for ten minutes before j tried to eat it. Instantly it came undone and fell into my basket, along with my tears. Mixing around my food there was NOTHING but lettuce and sour cream.

Read more-------- EDIT: I believe they started listening the customers and reading online reviews. Portion sizes have improved and you don't get lectured on dietary facts when you ask that the portion they served is small. Prices are still higher than other chipotles though. Customer service has improved as well. Changing rating from 2 to 4 stars.---------- The food is amazingly tasty however they are extremely stingy on portions. When you ask for a double steak they give you what would be considered "regular" in any other Chipotle. And when you ask them about it, you get lectured on dietary facts and how much exactly Chipotles portions should weigh and all. I tried this three times to see if it was just that employee but no every single employee in here gives you the same lecture... I believe they were told by the management to give this response when asked about the sizes of their portions.
When you tell them that no Chipotle serves this small, they tell you right out that those Chipotles not following instructions then. Well they should really think why other Chipotles are doing what they are doing.
Also the prices in this Chipotle are very high. Islanders used to go to NJ to eat Chipotle and pay a hefty toll. We were all very happy to see that we wouldn't have to pay extra toll now that they opened. Well unfortunately they add the cost of the bridge to your order with their ridiculously high prices...
I still have hope for this place. But if they continue with what they have been doing, they won't last long. When they first opened they had long lines, now the place is mostly empty and islanders are rather going to their regular Chipotles in NJ...
