City Line Bakery — Restaurant in New York

I’ve been getting cakes here for 17+ years, I get cakes about 6-8 times a year for birthdays and other occasions. This would be the only place I went and I used to love it but since the main guy left their cakes are no longer the same. For the last 3 years it’s just not the same. I used to be able to come and go over designs and show him what I wanted and I swear I would leave beyond happy but now since my Regular baker left, even showing a simple cake doesn’t get done right. It’s very disappointing because after the first cake I was unhappy with, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried a few more cakes with them and it’s like they don’t even try anymore. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!! They yelled at my mom and made her cry only because she had to cancel a cake two weeks in advanced due to personal problems!! They treated her so poorly without hearing her reasoning for needing the money she payed in advance back!!! They seriously treated her like an animal and never EVER apologized not even the owner apologized!!! Don’t cancel any cake orders unless you want to be treated poorly just like my mother.

Great tasting but hit or miss with the writing on the cake (poor penmanship). Since 2022 started i may have bought 3-4 cakes from here. One had a weird air bubble form on top. The next had bad writing, the next one was the most beautiful one for my 66year old mom! There is a new young man there, he does the best writing on the cake.
