I went to African Hair Braiding by Fatima shortly after giving birth. I was exhausted, vulnerable, and just wanted to feel a little more like myself. I chose this place because it was close to home and I wanted to stay near my newborn.

I asked for small braids, thinking they’d last longer and be low-maintenance. But from the start, I noticed they were using a very small amount of added hair. I asked repeatedly for more to be added, but I didn’t feel heard.

When I got home, the braids felt extremely tight—but I tried to push through it. Two days later, I couldn’t take the pain anymore and had to take them out. That’s when I noticed the front of my hair was breaking off. It’s been months, and my edges still haven’t grown back.

This experience was not only physically damaging, but emotionally draining—especially during such a sensitive time in my life. Please be careful. I do not recommend African Hair Braiding by Fatima. Your hair and your peace...

Buyer beware!! I got my hair braided here and it was NOT done properly! The braids were big on one side and small on the other side, the length of the braids varied some were short some were long , some braids were fat and some were skinny 🤯 and then she just cut it blunt straight across at the bottom so the ends don’t look nice im NOT A SATISFIED customer. They have a price list in the store and the price I was charged was no where near the price on the list and when I inquired about why I was being charged more I was told those are kids prices but the price list has pictures of adults smh it’s it’s kids prices it should say kids prices and should have pictures of kids not adults. Not a good experience and I won’t...

i rlly love the hair a lot and they had good service. all though they made my braids longer then i wanted and a lot of boho but that’s something i can fix at home and easy . BUT the only problem i very have is how this made my head break out so much. first day having them it hurts a lot! but then the other days they was supper itchy everywhere. i started to have red marks all over my head that people noticed and had pimples. At this moment it don’t hurt it just itching so much that it irritates my scalp. i believe is because they braid my hair super tight or i’m allergic. the only time my head gets super red if i scratch them. i usually get braids but i never had this problem at all especially getting pimples...
