Connolly's Bar — Restaurant in New York

No food, but plenty of events, and good drinks. It's one of the local bars in what I like to call the "uptown" Rockaway community. As such, once you get to know people it gets nice. But if you're riding solo, you may feel a bit left out. However, if you're social, chill, cool, love music as well as know a thing or two about surfing you can find your way to some wonderful people. Don't be afraid to spend some time inside and/or the outside region. And one of the coolest things is that within a 2 min walk, you can reach the beach and a concession stand that often has more great music and a great variety of food options. I'm not much of a social person so I have rated this based on my personal biases however, it is a pretty cool place to go where lots of the Rockaway community love to hang out and convene....

The bartender I ordered from was rude & I could tell she had no interest what so ever in helping me. when attempting to order a couple different shots I like, both with only 2 ingredients (regular Jameson only was it for options- in an Irish pub!) the one with an orange juice back, I was told that their juices "really aren't very good right now, it's like they've gone bad" what? In a bar you have nothing to mix drinks with? Painfully obvious she was not going to put in effort into serving me so I settled on a vodka mixed with whatever soda & a straight shot, neither of which I wanted but took them out to a cute little front patio to get away from the drones of overly served dancing 20 somethings after still tipping her too much cuz asking her to make change I don't think would have been...

Came down to the neighborhood by myself to check it out solo to try that Pina colada slushie and didn't even realize it was the last night of the season. Im from rural Ontario and this spot felt like a mix between a small town dive bar and a beach bar! From the beginning felt welcomed in the establishment, bouncer is a good guy. Then the bartenders were both great and from what I can tell they remember their regulars which is how a neighborhood bar should be and they do it right. Good, pretty diverse crowd that the place attracts and I talked to some awesome people and hopefully will be back for reopening next year! Cheers to another season you guys are...
