I have been coming to this bakery for may years. and had no problems. I do not like to complain about the place unless it’s something serious and making up stuff or lying is basic disrespect. This past sunday 11.19.23. i called to find out if they had apple strudels and if i could place an order of apple strudels for wednesday the 11.22.23. One of the girls answered the phone and said that at the moment they have some and she can’t say if they will make more on tueday or wednesday. She said that because of the holidays they don’t take orders because of the high demand around those days. I thought that is strange and i’ve never heard of that. Usually businesses try to take advantage of the holidays to make more money. I called the next day 11.20.23 and one of the girls answered and said the same thing. I needed the baked products to be fresh for thanksgiving day and did not want to buy few days in advance which i think is reasonable. That sounded like B.S. to me and i decided to stop by in person today before finding another bakery around the area. Earlier today i stopped by Cuccio’s Bakery and i saw that they had apple strudels but it wasn’t enough. There was only one girl working there and she said that i could place an order and she called the cook and i told him how i wanted them and how many pieces. I told the girl about my last two phone conversations and that i was told that the bakery won’t take orders because of the holidays. She looked very uncomfortable and said that the girl(s) who told me that was probably new. To me that makes no sense because if you don’t know something, you ask a fellow worker, manager or the owner. I placed the order but this will be the last time that i will purchase from Cuccio’s or recommend it unless i get a direct answer why this worker made up a story and that she will be punished for that. To me is sounded like she plainly doesn’t want to do work and on the holidays it is more work. I am disgusted with the lies and mad. I wonder how many customers she turned away and lied to. You can keep your worker if you want to keep...
Read moreWe came out of our way from Williamsburg to get the rainbow cookie cake. My partner grew up in the area and recalls Cuccio's as the best bakery with the absolute best rainbow cookie. (We have argued) We came home so excited to share the cake with our family. Everyone was so disappointed. $33 for the small cake. The amount of cream in this cake is excessive - your eyes will cross from the sugar. Besides that, the famous almond flavor in a rainbow cookie is non-existent... Are they using cherry extract instead to save money? I don't know. But one bite reminded a few of us of cherry cough syrup.
We recently have been on a mission to find the best rainbow cookie. This past week we went to Court Street Bakery and Fortunato Bakery for rainbow cookies and they blow this place out of the water.
Cuccio's has been around since 1937, and we hope it's open for a very long time. We don't know if this place is under new management, the website is down, but I hope that they revamp some of their offerings.
The pecan pastry cake we got was good, and I'm sure their other offerings are...
Read moreTrue Italian Cannoli Cake. If you have been searching, like myself, for that mouth watering rum infused old school Italian Cannoli cake, the one with the slivered almonds on the outside, look no further……. Our family has been in search of a cannoli cake, like the one from Longo’s bakery in Lindenhurst (which closed ), and happen to stumble upon this bakery through a friend of a friend. We drove an hour to get here on a Saturday morning. Over 40 years ago we would get one every April to celebrate 3 of our birthdays. It was well worth the drive. The cake was even better after the second and third day when all the flavors seeped through. We can not wait till Mother’s Day when we can celebrate another special occasion with Cuccio’s cannoli cake. Thank you. By the way, you MUST ask for this cake specifically!! They do not...
