This is a review by Oscar Jaeger, Lois's husband. I was here yesterday at around 4:30 p.m. and ordered four take-out dishes. While ordering, I observed that the restaurant was decently maintained and that the person taking my order was courteous and efficient. The place was clean, as was the bathroom, which I used after placing my order. The ambience is just okay; if you're looking for a fine dining experience, look elsewhere. The food left a lot to be desired. Concerning the two Chinese-style dishes I ordered from the restaurant's vast menu, Sesame Chicken with rice and Chow Fun Chicken, both contained not very tasty vegetarian "meat" and tasteless fried onions. At least the first dish was edible; the second was a "hot mess": it was not described as spicy in the menu, but it contained such a huge amount of cayenne pepper flakes that, when I brought the dish home, Lois and I could not eat it without my first washing out most of the cayenne (along with whatever other seasonings the dish may have had, which were indiscernible after the washing). From the hot steaming foods section I ordered the homemade Potato Latkes and the homemade Cheese Blintzes. The first dish was not bad, but overly salted; the second dish was flavorless. All in all, the main basis of any recommendation to eat food at or from this restaurant would be the fact that there are few if any similar restaurants on...
Read moreI've been here a few times over the last year and I would return. The pizza is surprisingly good considering they're the only kosher pizza in town. It's competitive with Cedarhurst shops. French fries are ok, although I'd love to see steak fries here. The sushi is Jewshi - plain and uninspired but fresh and well formed. Nothing wrong with it as part of a larger order but this isn't really a sushi destination. The beverage selection is nice.
Seating is easy, it has an "out of town" pizza shop ambiance, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only improvements I'd ask for are those steak fries and delivery service - they don't deliver during peak hours. Understandable but frustrating.
Overall it's great for what it offers and it does exactly what it says...
Read moreThey make the best Kosher pizza in Staten Island! 😜 Actually it's the best Kosher pizza I've had in any island including Long Island & Teaneck where there are at least 5 kosher pizza stores within a half mile radius of much larger jewish orthodox kosher areas! You'd think they'd get it right with all the competition in those places. I say franchise your recipe & open one in Teaneck and Long Island 5 towns area. Even the Italians in Staten Island admit it's good pizza! That's how you know you've done it right!! When the Goyim eat your pizza!! It must be a fresh pie though! Keep up the good work!
