When I first called I was on hold for over 14 minutes when I just heard someone hung up, called again the same lady picked up the phone and I asked her what happened, she had an attitude real bad, when I made the order I specifically asked for delivery to come down because I cannot go down because I’m I’ll at the moment the same reason why I ordered food, I asked the lady to send change as well for the amount I had and she agreed, 1 hour later the restaurant called me telling the driver was calling me when it was a lie, she said o had to go down or I wasn’t going to get the food, I asked her to call the delivery person to come up and she didn’t let me finish speaking she just hung up on me, now I don’t understand what’s going, I called the restaurants again and asked her to call de delivery person to ring my bell, when driver came up I asked him what happened I never saw the call, he admitted that was not his fault that the lady that took order didn’t mention he had to come up or bring change, at this point I only could’ve gather the change I had and paid for the food and couldn’t give him a tip, this is totally not fair for him, Egan I was given the food the plátanos where cold and dry , I ordered juice there was not straws or utensils to eat the food, until the restaurant hires professional people that knows how to provide customer service won’t eat again or recommend this restaurant to no one!! This place is a Gem in the high bridge area of the Bronx. This area is a true food desert! Although Emergency snack bar isn't serving up healthy food it does provide some variety and an alternative to Kennedy fried, johnnys fried and bodega sandwiches.

Emergency has an impressive selection of what I like to call 420 foods. The kind of things your looking for when you have the munchies. They have burgers, chicken salads, sandwiches and Latin treats like rellenas de papa and pastelitos to name a few. They also serve fresh fruit juice like papaya or pineapple. My fav thing to order here is the Dominican hot dog. This is a large hot dog loaded with ground beef, cheese and potato straws and topped with ketchup and mayo. The ultimate fat food! I enjoy every bite of this hotdog every time I get it. I usually get fries with it. Their fries aren't your standard bland crinkle cut fries a lot of places serve. The fries are battered, seasoned and crispy! This dish is my go to when I'm in this area and looking for a a high calorie treat. Their juices are also A1. The pinnacle is my favorite! It tastes like 100 percent pineapple and some artificially flavored drink loaded with HFCS.

4 stars for emergency. Food is great, prices are reasonable and they are open late! The service can be slow. At times I've found myself waiting 20+ mins for a simple order. As much as everything on the menu sounds amazing it was to good to be true, who ever is cooking could seriously use a big lesson in seasoning, with so much Spanish flavor out there and recipes these days to choose from this was a disappointment. I feel like that is a huge negative impact on your buisness that could make it harder for you to stay open despite the trouble covid is causing for small businesses in the community, my entire order was distasteful so much fat left mixed in the pork given if it had any flavor ok no biggie but that was not the case here and as if it couldn't be any worst I got a pork yaroa and a Cuban sandwich no flavor what so ever thank God for ketchup , i also got a beef and chicken empanada even they couldn't escape the poor taste which were also very oily as if they just threw it in the bag asoon as it came out the fryer. Really think you need a new chef that can bring the love care and quality when cooking ASAP!
