Finback Brewery — Restaurant in New York

We had such a wonderful time celebrating a birthday at Finback Brewery, and I can’t recommend this place enough! From start to finish, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and absolutely perfect for bringing family and friends together.

One of the things that makes Finback stand out is how family-friendly it is. We brought the kids along, and they had just as much fun as the adults! There are plenty of board games on-site to keep everyone entertained, and it really created such a relaxed, community style vibe. It’s rare to find a brewery that balances great craft beer with such a comfortable and inclusive environment for all ages.

The flexibility here is another huge plus you can actually bring your own food! That made celebrating the birthday so much easier and more personal. We were able to set up with our favorite dishes, enjoy the amazing selection of Finback beers, and just settle in for a great time together. The staff was kind and accommodating, always making sure we had what we needed and that the birthday celebration went smoothly.

Of course, the beer itself deserves a big shoutout. Finback offers such a fantastic variety whether you’re into hazy IPAs, rich stouts, or lighter brews, there’s truly something for everyone. Each pour was fresh and full of flavor, and it paired perfectly with the energy of the night.

Overall, our experience was everything we could’ve hoped for: family-friendly, fun, and filled with great memories. Finback Brewery is more than just a brewery it’s a place where you can gather, celebrate, laugh, and enjoy life together. We left already talking about our next visit. Five stars,...

Sorry to say that this place has gone downhill and, though I called this a favorite for years, I can no longer recommend this Finback.

I go to breweries and pay a premium for craft beers for two reasons. One is because they provide a chill atmosphere that’s a nice respite from other bars with unruly and loud adults. The second reason is for access to delicious beers that I can’t find at a grocery store to take home. Finback no longer offers either.

A majority of the last handful of times there have been more (unruly) children than adults!! This is irresponsible management, parenting, but most of all it’s unbelievably unpleasant. The acoustics in the bldg make the chaos even louder. There have been multiple times I’ve had to leave before I even got a beer. Not a relaxing place to be.

The beers are now average. Nothing you won’t find anything you won’t find at every other brewery in the area. All their IPAs are “hazy” New England IPAs and all the stouts are oppressively syrupy and they use various candies as adjuncts which ensures they taste nothing like actual beer. Make stouts roasty again! Their smoked lager is a freakin banger though. Truly exceptional. I would’ve bought a million cans of them but they wouldn’t give a discount for buying in bulk, so I bought one 4pk.

I’d abide the premium prices and increasingly middling beers if it weren’t for the place being a playground now. So, I’d skip this joint if that’s not your idea of a relaxing way to spend your precious weekend downtime. After all, I have to deal with “children” at my job...

Food: Unlimited fresh popcorn. I would advise you to grab a bite before coming here because you won't want to leave once you step in. Great delicious beer, laid back cozy comfortable atmosphere, board games, and pets and kids are welcome. This is truly a local gem here in Queens.

Beer: They have great rotating selections of beers. Always brewing something new and creative to taste or canned for you to buy and enjoy later. They also sell growlers for you to enjoy their beer at home as well. I was privileged to taste a few beers and everything blew me away with huge flavor profiles to make me fall in love with them over and over again. Recently I tasted the Family, which is a saison with green tea. It's such an easy drinking beer with a full flavor profile that doesn't fall flat. They collaborated with Betony Brewery on this one. My next selection was heavier and hit all the right notes. I had the Oscillation 003 Double IPA. The Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops bring plenty of citrusy and bright notes to the nose and a pleasant piney bitterness full body on the tongue. It was well balanced on every level. 10 out...
