Today, my family and I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Five Guys burger joint in the Bayside area of New York (zip code 11360). Despite being loyal customers for over 15 years, we were shocked by the lack of professionalism and respect from the staff.
Upon placing our order, which included two cheeseburgers 'all the way,' two little bacon cheeseburgers 'all the way,' one little cheeseburger 'all the way,' two large fries, and three large drinks, we encountered multiple errors. Not only were we missing items from our order, but the burgers we did receive were completely lacking in toppings, despite specifically requesting 'all the way' with everything on them.
When we politely approached the cashier to address the issue, the response we received was beyond appalling. The staff member became immediately defensive and hostile, refusing to acknowledge their mistake. Instead of offering a solution, they resorted to shouting and even used racially offensive language towards us. The so-called 'manager,' Marco, was particularly disrespectful, laughing off our concerns and refusing to take any responsibility.
Feeling humiliated and disgusted by the treatment we received, we demanded a refund. After much reluctance, they finally complied and returned our money. However, the damage had been done. The entire ordeal left us feeling deeply upset and disappointed.
As a long-time patron of Five Guys, I am appalled by the lack of professionalism and customer service exhibited by the staff at this location. This experience has completely shattered my trust in the brand, and I have no intention of ever returning. I will be lodging a formal complaint with Five Guys headquarters, as well as sharing my experience with my community to warn others about the unacceptable behavior we encountered.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against visiting this particular Five Guys location. The disrespectful attitude and incompetence of the staff make it an unpleasant and unwelcoming environment for customers. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different...
Read moreHad a cashier named Timothy with an awful attitude from beginning to end. First he was chatting with a friend while I was waiting at the register to order. When he actually did come over to take my order, he didn't so much as greet me, he just stood there until I started talking first. He rang up my order wrong- twice- and when I corrected him he audibly sighed at me. (He rang it up wrong a third time too- I asked for a burger meal, but he rang up the burger, fries, and drink separately. By then I just couldn't be bothered to correct him anymore.) Never even said so much as a "have a nice day" when I completed my order, and it's not as though the restaurant was busy, either. There was no line, it was the middle of the afternoon, and it was almost empty inside. I tried to be polite. I work in retail and understand it can be tough, but Timothy's attitude was just unacceptable and unwarranted.
I spent nearly $40 here and doubt I'll ever come back. I don't expect the cashier to be my friend, but I do expect them to at least pretend to be polite. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area (and even other Five Guys locations) that won't treat you like a nuisance for...
Read moreAll Five Guys are are not same Five Guys hamburgers and fries. This Bayside Five Guys is the BEST. I tried so many locations of Five Guys including Spain and Korea… of course I can’t compare internationally but within NYC and Long Island, NY, this location is phenominal. I always have Little hamburger with all the way excluding mustard and jalapeño in. Topping ingredients have great portion unlike other hamburger shops unreasonably stingy portions. This Bayside, Five Guys FRENCH FRIES are fried so well, barely any piece is soaked in oil. I normally see all male employees , it really presents the name of the restaurant. Interior and restroom is managed well, no trace of sticky oil residue, scent of freshness in the restroom. If you like Five Guys then this...
