Visited this location twice already with two different experiences. I ordered food to go both times. I ordered in person the first time and online the second time. My first experience with this restaurant was pleasant and satisfactory. Food was ready within 20 minutes and everything was boxed perfectly, they even took the time to separate the pancakes/waffles from other grilled items to they would not get soggy. The chicken tenders were coated perfectly with buffalo sauce.
The second experience was less than satisfactory. No one was attending the front desk. I waited at least a good 5-10 minutes before a staff finally came out. When I informed her I was picking up my order, she asked for my name but ultimately she had me read the receipt attached to confirm it was mine. She seemed really confused/unsure. Upon returning home, I realized my 2 orders of buffalo tenders were replaced with BBQ-coated (more like drizzled) tenders instead. The waffles were sloppily put over the eggs and sausages and had already become soggy by the time I got home. The ranch dressing was also missing. Overall, it was a complete opposite of my first experience.
I think this IHOP has a lot of potential - it has a lot of great things going for it - it definitely needs consistency and tighter quality control.
I would visit it again in the future but I'd probably stay away from online ordering after...
Read moreMy wife and I have been to plenty of IHOP's over the years, in all parts of NY and other nearby states. We ate in this IHOP today and were disappointed. Our pancakes were cold when they were served to us, plus they tasted dry. My wife had a breakfast sampler and the bacon and ham were overcooked. I ordered a cheese omelet and received some folded up eggs that were cooked to death with about 2 slices of American melted across the top?? There was no melted cheese inside. Who makes an omelet like that? Never had unappetizing food in an IHOP before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. Best thing about the meal was the ice water and the coffee. Go to the IHOP in Manhasset instead and have a good meal. We will never go back to this Bay Terrace location again; I'll be surprised if it even stays...
Read moreThis IHOP is very spacious since it's a fairly new location. They opened during the Pandemic and did serve take out during this time. I came here for the first time to dine in on a random January 2023 day. Brunch was the plan given we're the type that likes breakfast all day. Pancakes are very good here but the service was a little off. My server took my order and randomly brought a plate here and there but otherwise, we were served by many other staffers. I had the country fried steak, my group ordered all breakfast combos. Pretty good value but the best part is the pot of coffee and the flavored syrups. They are now served in plastic sauce to go containers. They are no longer in the glass syrup dispenser and no longer on the tables. Hash browns is a must... You can tell them...
