During a recent visit to your store, I had an unfortunate experience involving a woman I later learned was the district manager, Lisa. While I’ve consistently encountered kind, professional, and attentive staff during my visits — especially Ashley and Gabriella, who were both wonderful — the presence and behavior of this manager created a noticeably negative environment.
It was deeply uncomfortable to witness Lisa correcting and reprimanding employees openly in front of customers. At several points, I could also hear her loudly criticizing staff from the back of the store. This kind of behavior not only undermines employee morale but also affects the overall customer experience. As someone who has held a managerial role in retail, I strongly believe that coaching and feedback should always be delivered with respect and discretion — never in a way that embarrasses employees or creates tension in the workplace.
Lisa also attempted to demonstrate customer service to her team, but her approach came off as forced and disingenuous. Her interaction with me and other customers felt cold and uncomfortable, which stood in stark contrast to the warm and professional service I received from Ashley and Gabriella. In fact, as I was leaving, I overheard Lisa threatening to issue a write-up to one of the team members — apparently based on their interaction with me — which I found completely unwarranted, as both associates had been nothing but kind and attentive.
Unfortunately, the negative atmosphere Lisa created made the entire visit feel unpleasant. While the product itself was okay — not particularly memorable and somewhat overpriced for the quality — it was really the uncomfortable store environment that left the strongest impression.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because the team clearly has great people working hard to provide a positive experience. They deserve leadership that uplifts and supports them, not someone who makes their job harder and negatively impacts...
Read moreBeware if you have food Allergies! Horrible experience not once but twice their lack of labeling and training of their staff to know what ingredients are used almost killed my child. Please stop hiding nuts in your cookies! Went in one week excited to buy some cookies for my kid and myself- I ordered some variety which included a cannoli cookie, I asked if anything was made with nuts or nut paste. The girl said no! I get home only to find pistachios and walnuts in the cannoli cookie! Which was placed in the same box as the chocolate chip that I bought for my son who is deathly allergic to nuts, especially peanuts. Ok I figured a mistake- I went in a few days ago again- I specifically asked if any nuts the girl said absolutely not! No labels on any of the cookies presented! So I got an oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip. My son loves both. Thank god he wanted the chocolate chip first! I got home and took a bite of the oatmeal raisin, only to find it has full toasted peanuts in them! How can you make that kind of mistake?? And what possessed them to put peanuts inside an oatmeal raisin?! I called the store the following day and asked to speak to the manager still no phone call back! You people are headed for a wrongful death lawsuit if you do not tell your staff what is in the products you are selling! Label your cookies and hire smarter people! Have the decency to call back...
Read moreLocated in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center is Chip City’s newest location. The lines were quite long but moving quickly at today’s grand opening. The décor is typical and like other Chip City locations. You’ll find the pastel walls and city mural with the cookies in the display cases. Unlike the other locations in Queens, this one is a good size. There are a few tables to the right side and feels a lot roomier. I love how the aroma hits you as soon as you open the door and boy, did it smell heavenly.
Chip City is known for their giant cookies that rival Levain’s. They sell roughly 40+ cookie flavors but they only offer 4 each day. The flavors are rotated daily apart from the chocolate chip cookie which is sold every single day. This happens to be my favorite cookie, so you know I had to order one. I also got the chocolate peanut butter, and cookies n’ cream. I love the texture of their cookies; the exterior is crunchy with a warm, gooey center. At $4.50 a cookie, it is a bit of a splurge. Luckily, the cookies are large and delicious.
This location also sells Chip City merchandise like t-shirts and bags. They are open daily and location next to the bank. Great spot to stop and unwind after shopping in...
