Okay, so let me start off by saying that if you're going to Golden Corral, go in with LOW expectations. By doing so, you'll save yourself a lot of disappointment. No matter what your taste in food is, no matter how sophisticated or non-advanced your taste buds may be, lower your standards going here.

With that out the way, my experience here at Golden Corral was not so Golden but it was pleasant. For what you pay (which is very affordable at 17 or so maybe less actually) the value is great. You can pig out and get down as much as you want with pretty standard "soul food" fare. Lots of chicken, pulled pork, fried fish, mash, sweet potato, baked potato, collar greens, a nice selection of salad and deserts (cakes, ice cream etc)and other foods.

There's even alcoholic beverages you pay extra for and of course a selection of sodas.

Nothing I ate here was outstanding whatsoever. On the same token, nothing I ate here was particularly bad. Some foods were a little saltier than I wish it could be and without any sauce the fried fish was super bland but again, nothing I hate was bad. It was just fine and for what you pay, you can really make it worth your dollar.

I haven't had the breakfast yet but I hear good things about that so I will try that and see if I can do an update.

The service was very good here. It's a mostly very young staff but they are on point. Friendly, kind, attentive and are on top of making sure the food is always reloaded when it runs out.

The environment here was (from my experience and time I went) calm. Packed, busy but calm. And it being in the Bronx and not exactly in the best (or worse) area, I was surprised that there was no hooliganism. I probably wouldn't come here on a Friday and weekend but for a Wednesday afternoon, it was chill. Mostly family and friends and after school students.

It was also clean and we'll sanitized.

My verdict:

If you're looking to make your dollar stretch and just looking to pig out on basic foods then you won't feel bad about coming to Golden Corral. Come in with low expectations and you'll be okay and have a good time.

If you're looking for a finer dining, more sophisticated food adventure, this is NOT the place. Don't even look in the vicinity.

Rating:* Out of 5 stars. It could get 2 but it makes up for it for the value, the customer service and...

This restaurant was my most favorite place for breakfast buffet. From last few months I went there maybe every Sunday for breakfast and I really enjoy that but today what happened with me was so heartbreaking. I went there today at 11:30 am and as usual I like their live egg section so I asked the chef to make me a egg and I asked so nicely but he very rudely said that no no no I can’t I can’t because I have to clean this place before 12pm. I said okay please make me one then you close it as he was already frying some eggs. He just treated me like I am a beggar at that time one of their server said “you go and make egg at your home” then I couldn’t control myself I got very disheartened and asked that guy why you talking to me like that? How could you even disrespect your customer or any person?after than another chef said that okay I am making you the egg now but I felt so insulted already so Immediately I went to the manager I explained him everything but I was so shocked with his reaction as he said “ he is making the egg for you now right? So what’s your problem now?” I mean seriously? Is it about the egg? How could any server any chef or manager behave with me like that? Of course it was not about the egg it was about the misbehave they did with me. I was literally feeling so heartbroken that time because I went there very happily in the morning for breakfast but they did this kinda misbehavior with me. They literally didn’t cared about a regular customer. As a manager he could’ve handle the situation nicely but no he literally gave my money back to me so rudely and I left that place with eating. As I own 3 restaurant so I know how to behave with a customer and I know how to make customer happy if anything bad happens then the managers response should be more nice and respectful. As it was not my fault and I was very polite at that moment. I am posting this in details here because I can understand how much harmful it could be for the business if they will keep this kinda manager and servers in restaurant. My most favorite go to restaurant did this kinda behavior with me So it’s just impossible for me to go there again just because of their misbehavior today. I wonder how many customers facing this type of rude...

I have been visiting this location for over a year now...and the service and food quality have been generally good... However, during my visit in June I had an issue with the food quality (which I can post more about in more detail...but I want to give the restaurant has a fair chance to respond) I immediately contacted an employee and the product was replaced by the kitchen manager with a semi-apology...and was told to speak to the manager I asked to speak to the store manager and wait over half an hour and when the manager did finally show up...she was EXTREMELY argumentative and rude to me...telling me that "this is how this item is cooked..." She also argued with me and told me "it wasn't that serious if you kept eating..." Which btw...I did not eat anymore food from the hot buffet...but I did have desert... Now I have been in the restaurant business for 32 years and this product should have never put into service like that...period... I felt like calling the health dept...but...again tried to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and resolve the issue... In addition, you NEVER argue with a customer! You always find a way to resolve the issue to the customer's satisfaction! When I was manager a restaurant FIRED people for doing just that! So...I contacted the the corporate number and spoke with a receptionist about the issue and was assured follow up from the store location which never happened! I have since returned to that location earlier this month and the food was great and our server, Gus was amazing! My problem is the lack of quality control in the product that is served (and I get it...mistakes happen) but it's how you react to customer concerns that matters...and I feel my concern was handled in an inappropriate unprofessional manner... This manager definitely needs to be re-rained when it comes to her customer service skills... So...ONCE again, I am giving the restaurant an opportunity to respond to this review and provide me a resolution before I post the picture and more specific details about...

I just found out that there was a Golden Corral somewhat near me without having to drive 3 hours. So instead me and my boyfriend drove a little over 1 hour to the Bronx location tonight. First and for most. I had an altercation with someone in the parkinglot that is an absolute nightmare to park in. I was next in line to pull into the available spot and a guy drove in front of me and into the spot I was waiting for and then proceeded to pull back out of the spot and purposely kept trying to hit my car with his. Next. I walk in and I pay and as i get to the host stand I ask if I could please not be seated by that group that just walked in because we had a little bit of an issue outside and I don't want anything to transpire in here. She says "oh okay no problem" and then proceeded to sit us 3 tables over from them. Next. As we sit our waitress comes up and says she's going to get get our drinks. Great. I go up to the buffet and get a salad to start. I sit down and our waitress brings over our drinks and says "just so you know the buffet is actually closing in the next couple minutes so your gonna have to go get all your food now and bring it back to the table" Why is staff taking peoples money (mind you, you pay before your even seated) and seating people when they know that the buffet is gonna start shutting down? That should have been the first thing said before even asking how many people were in my boyfriend and i's party. I went up and asked the cashier why she didn't tell me the buffet starts cleaning and closing up for the night in the next 5 minutes, we wouldn't have stayed. Her response was " you got here at 9:07, you had a whole 43 minutes to eat" excuse me? How dare you. I swiped my card at 9:07 by 9:18 I took this photo below. So no.. I had a whole 11 minutes to eat. This is foul business. I work in the food industry and that is just not how you run a business. I will never be back and I am calling corporate tomorrow morning

Soo finally Golden Coral has come home to... NYC and most importantly it has come home to the bronx.. So lets start with the location. Its a clean establishment with a parking lot. Next is the employees.. while for the most part they are happy, and seem to enjoy working there.( while there are a few bad apples who seem to be either lazy or not to excited about working their). However the excitement of a Golden Coral in the bronx should make up for those few employees.. but i would say 85 percent of the employees are hard working and polite. Next is the food... while i have been to other Golden Corrals in florida with a larger selection its not by much. They have amazing selections like chicken tenders, meatloaf, fish and shrimp, pot roast, pork shoulder aka pernil for us latinos out there, fresh grilled steak(my personal favorite because lets be honest.. all you can eat steak! For under $20). The steak can be made however you like it.. i get mine medium rare but that is my personal choice and im sure you will find soup and salad bar...the dessert selection that also includes soft serve ice cream, cheese cake, apple pie, all diffrent types of cakes and chocolates and gummies. A-maze-Ing.... And lastly the management. They seem to be very proud of their business. Very happy to be in the community. Very attentive to the customers and very polite. I hope that thr good folks who live in the bronx dont come in and destroy their positivity and enthusiasm. They are doing an A+ job and i will end this by saying they are great and also very helpful. Also.. they serve... Are your ready for this... Alcoholic drinks 🍸 🤪 ! All in all im proud to welcome all to try the Golden Coral here in the bronx. Something other than Chinese buffet food. Finally!! I give them an A+ and a very high recommendation. Hopefully they continue with the great work and keep up with the great work.
