Soo finally Golden Coral has come home to... NYC and most importantly it has come home to the bronx.. So lets start with the location. Its a clean establishment with a parking lot. Next is the employees.. while for the most part they are happy, and seem to enjoy working there.( while there are a few bad apples who seem to be either lazy or not to excited about working their). However the excitement of a Golden Coral in the bronx should make up for those few employees.. but i would say 85 percent of the employees are hard working and polite. Next is the food... while i have been to other Golden Corrals in florida with a larger selection its not by much. They have amazing selections like chicken tenders, meatloaf, fish and shrimp, pot roast, pork shoulder aka pernil for us latinos out there, fresh grilled steak(my personal favorite because lets be honest.. all you can eat steak! For under $20). The steak can be made however you like it.. i get mine medium rare but that is my personal choice and im sure you will find soup and salad bar...the dessert selection that also includes soft serve ice cream, cheese cake, apple pie, all diffrent types of cakes and chocolates and gummies. A-maze-Ing.... And lastly the management. They seem to be very proud of their business. Very happy to be in the community. Very attentive to the customers and very polite. I hope that thr good folks who live in the bronx dont come in and destroy their positivity and enthusiasm. They are doing an A+ job and i will end this by saying they are great and also very helpful. Also.. they serve... Are your ready for this... Alcoholic drinks 🍸 🤪 ! All in all im proud to welcome all to try the Golden Coral here in the bronx. Something other than Chinese buffet food. Finally!! I give them an A+ and a very high recommendation. Hopefully they continue with the great work and keep up with the great work.

Let me be honest and clear This establishment I’ve visited another location many years ago while I was living in Orlando, Florida. At that time it was my very first year in college. I enjoyed every second of that first visit; because It was right around thanksgiving week and it was me and my roommate plus mother. Those was great times… As I sit here and sip on my tea 4 plates later I am immediately reminded that everything will be ALRIGHT. It’s going to be ok. Everything is going to work out. What I’m reminded at this Golden Corral is what amazing work ethic is. These employees never stop. Everything runs just so smoothly. The food, the bathroom, everything was and is clean to the capital C!. I definitely enjoyed my time here as I’m writing this. But I must say.. I am quickly this particular location (which I’ve been TRYING TO VISIT) since it’s close to my homies house (and I’ve been begging her to go…her LOSS 🤣)….aka (my entire family). I really can’t say anything bad about this place except for one thing…it’s somewhat small a bit cramped plus add more TEA OPTIONS!!!!!! I don’t drink alcohol anymore! Once again the quality of the food and the PUREST VISUAL DISPLAY of work ethics amongst every employee. Bathroom is clean everything it just running smoothly. Everything is peaceful. Even though I am dining alone.. Please support THIS BRONX staple (yes I know it’s franchise). But only visit THE BRONX…. please support the locals and always support the hard working employees. No matter where you’re at. Treat everyone with respect. 4 plates later….tempted for my finally plate…

Okay, so let me start off by saying that if you're going to Golden Corral, go in with LOW expectations. By doing so, you'll save yourself a lot of disappointment. No matter what your taste in food is, no matter how sophisticated or non-advanced your taste buds may be, lower your standards going here. With that out the way, my experience here at Golden Corral was not so Golden but it was pleasant. For what you pay (which is very affordable at 17 or so maybe less actually) the value is great. You can pig out and get down as much as you want with pretty standard "soul food" fare. Lots of chicken, pulled pork, fried fish, mash, sweet potato, baked potato, collar greens, a nice selection of salad and deserts (cakes, ice cream etc)and other foods. There's even alcoholic beverages you pay extra for and of course a selection of sodas. Nothing I ate here was outstanding whatsoever. On the same token, nothing I ate here was particularly bad. Some foods were a little saltier than I wish it could be and without any sauce the fried fish was super bland but again, nothing I hate was bad. It was just fine and for what you pay, you can really make it worth your dollar. I haven't had the breakfast yet but I hear good things about that so I will try that and see if I can do an update. The service was very good here. It's a mostly very young staff but they are on point. Friendly, kind, attentive and are on top of making sure the food is always reloaded when it runs out. The environment here was (from my experience and time I went) calm. Packed, busy but calm. And it being in the Bronx and not exactly in the best (or worse) area, I was surprised that there was no hooliganism. I probably wouldn't come here on a Friday and weekend but for a Wednesday afternoon, it was chill. Mostly family and friends and after school students. It was also clean and we'll sanitized. My verdict: If you're looking to make your dollar stretch and just looking to pig out on basic foods then you won't feel bad about coming to Golden Corral. Come in with low expectations and you'll be okay and have a good time. If you're looking for a finer dining, more sophisticated food adventure, this is NOT the place. Don't even look in the vicinity. Rating:*** Out of 5 stars. It could get 2 but it makes up for it for the value, the customer service and cleanliness.

I just found out that there was a Golden Corral somewhat near me without having to drive 3 hours. So instead me and my boyfriend drove a little over 1 hour to the Bronx location tonight. First and for most. I had an altercation with someone in the parkinglot that is an absolute nightmare to park in. I was next in line to pull into the available spot and a guy drove in front of me and into the spot I was waiting for and then proceeded to pull back out of the spot and purposely kept trying to hit my car with his. Next. I walk in and I pay and as i get to the host stand I ask if I could please not be seated by that group that just walked in because we had a little bit of an issue outside and I don't want anything to transpire in here. She says "oh okay no problem" and then proceeded to sit us 3 tables over from them. Next. As we sit our waitress comes up and says she's going to get get our drinks. Great. I go up to the buffet and get a salad to start. I sit down and our waitress brings over our drinks and says "just so you know the buffet is actually closing in the next couple minutes so your gonna have to go get all your food now and bring it back to the table" Why is staff taking peoples money (mind you, you pay before your even seated) and seating people when they know that the buffet is gonna start shutting down? That should have been the first thing said before even asking how many people were in my boyfriend and i's party. I went up and asked the cashier why she didn't tell me the buffet starts cleaning and closing up for the night in the next 5 minutes, we wouldn't have stayed. Her response was " you got here at 9:07, you had a whole 43 minutes to eat" excuse me? How dare you. I swiped my card at 9:07 by 9:18 I took this photo below. So no.. I had a whole 11 minutes to eat. This is foul business. I work in the food industry and that is just not how you run a business. I will never be back and I am calling corporate tomorrow morning

Update: I visited Golden Corral again in September 2023. This was my first time going into the restaurant as my original visit indoor dining was closed due to COVID. There is a small outdoor parking lot. Upon entry there was no wait. I visited on a weekday during lunch time. The person who filled our beverages was very pleasant. The food was okay. I felt it wasn’t much of a lunch selection. So I restored to much of the breakfast items. My only grievance some of the food was cold. I will also warm you if you’re use to or think of the Golden Corrals in the south this is it. I visited the restaurant on opening day. There is more than enough space to enjoy social distancing outdoor dining as they are using their parking lot. There is even a large tent over e parking lot in case of rain you can still participate in outdoor dining. There are several sanitizer stations as you walk through to be seated. There is a QR code on the table so you can scan to view the menu and also place your order right through your phone. This was also a bonus as everyone can place there own order and pay for their own. The staff were very friendly and polite. They were also very attentive offering to help view and place the order. They also checked several time while dining to make sure everything was okay. The food comes out in a bag in to go trays all utensils and condiments are also in the bag. The food wasn’t that bad but it doesn’t compare to the Golden Corrals in the South. I really enjoyed my experience here and will be back for more.

I was in the ER all night after my visit here, following six more days of antibiotics and rest. I caught food poisoning from something. I spoke with the manager and asked if I could at least get a ginger ale to take with me. She was nice and didn’t charge me, but claimed that it was not possible I had food poisoning from their food. The owner replied stating CDC guidelines with no context. Symptoms can actually occur within 30 minutes, yet the owner claims it would take hours or even days, which is possible, but also unlikely. They also assume that my family ate all the same food I did at a buffet of tons of food and would have the same health response as I would. They also assume no one else in the restaurant got sick from the food I ate, yet they don’t know if anyone else ate that food or if they threw it out since it was about time for closing or replacing it. I am not asking the business to take responsibility since food borne illnesses are nearly hard to prove in court without a health inspector showing up when someone eats, but I do not appreciate them stating possible scenarios with no context just to dismiss someone. That’s just disrespectful. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence of an illness and it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Wouldn’t it be nice if they actually replied with a comment stating that they checked for possible contamination, food temp checks, asked me what I ate, or just said “sorry for your experience we will work harder to ensure our food is safe for the public.”
