I do not like to leave bad reviews and very rarely ever do. As I do not want to hurt a small business at all. But I do think the staff needs to be spoken to. I was just there for an early dinner with my sister and we had one of the worst service experiences. We were seated at a table that had bread crumbs all over the seats.. We were brought bread but no water or menus. We ended up waiting between 20-25 minutes before anyone came over to us. We watched the wait staff go to other tables and stand in the corner but completely ignore us. Someone who may have been the owner realized and then they came over and finally brought over menus. When the waitress came over she apologized for the wait but then said “but it’s ok we will now take care of you”. It was not really OK..This alone was not the biggest deal. She possibly didn't mean it the way we took it. When the food finally came she mentioned dessert was on the house because of the wait. She brought us 2 menus and we asked for 2 tiramisus. Despite the experience, I still tipped 20% and was appreciative of the fact that they at least offered us dessert on the house and were going to bring it over. She mentioned it would be brought over in 5 mins after we paid but it was really another 10-15 mins before it came. When it came, the girl who brought the dessert to us threw it on the table in front of us and this is after we heard her asking all the tables who ordered the tiramisu. We left and said nothing just to realize they only gave us one tiramisu. We figured maybe that was a mistake. We went back in and asked for the second one we were promised after this experience. This was the last straw for us and why I am writing the review honestly. Her response was “oh they wanted two?” She told us dessert was on the house, gave us 2 menus, and we asked for 2 of them. It just felt so disrespectful to then have that commentary said after everything else. The food was good but the service was just not it. A man who I believe was an owner or a manager I appreciated that he tried by coming over a few times. But with all that happened it really was not a good experience and overall we felt very...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Good Fellas, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As a self-proclaimed pizza enthusiast, I have sampled various pizzerias in Staten Island, but Good Fellas stands head and shoulders above the rest.
The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The aroma of freshly baked pizza wafted through the air, instantly whetting my appetite. The restaurant was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, creating the perfect ambiance for a memorable meal.
The star of the show, of course, was the pizza. Good Fellas serves some of the most mouthwatering slices I have ever tasted. The crust was perfectly crisp, while the sauce had just the right balance of tanginess and sweetness. Every bite was a delight for my taste buds, leaving me craving more.
But it wasn't just the delicious pizza that made my experience exceptional; it was also the phenomenal service provided by the amazing staff. Our waitress, Sophia, was an absolute delight. She was attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made sure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfection.
The owner, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, deserves a special mention. Despite the restaurant's growing popularity, he remained humble and down-to-earth. He took the time to chat with customers, ensuring everyone felt welcome and appreciated. His passion for pizza and dedication to his craft were evident in every bite.
Overall, Good Fellas exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The combination of outstanding pizza, excellent service, and a humble owner truly sets this restaurant apart. Whether you're a local or just visiting Staten Island, I highly recommend paying a visit to Good Fellas. You won't be disappointed!
Kudos to the entire team at Good Fellas for creating an unforgettable dining experience. I'll definitely be returning soon to indulge in their mouthwatering...
Read moreUPDATE: original review was approx. August.
Ordered to give them a try again because there was a promo through the slice app. I ordered for pickup and because the app doesn't let you update the order after completion, I reached out to slice app customer service. They updated the order for the next day, but put it as deliver. The order was accidentally delivered 40 minutes late, and the driver called me to tell her why there's no cash tip. I know drivers make most of their money off tips. The place is with 2-3 blocks and also I explained the mixup and why it happened. Don't call the customer from your cell to tell them on an order that is 40 minutes late why you don't have a cash tip.
Original review: I have to say the girl in the front was really nice and really tried to help, but the lack of communication and follow through from the damn kitchen is inexcusable.
We ordered 3 pies online and walked over in about 15-20 minutes. We checked on the pies after about 5-10 minutes and were told 15-20 minutes more so we waited. After 15 minutes we got our first pie and asked about the other 2 pies and were told another 10 minutes. After another 20 minutes we after about our pies. We waited a few more minutes.... The kitchen needs to properly communicate about the times the pizza is going to come out. Also there weren't really any customers and I don't know what the other orders were, but they weren't turning over food from the kitchen.
Why did we wait over an hour with the place not being busy and then got pizza that tastes like charcoal???
Side note: the girl in the front really tried to be kind and helpful, but at some point she even got annoyed because she kept asking for us and having to explain why the kitchen was not able to make a pie with no customers in...
