Grandma's Bakery — Restaurant in New York

I recently had such a wonderful experience at Grandmas bakery that I highly recommend it to others! I went to the bakery to purchase a cake and the type of cake I was looking for wasn’t available. The sweet person behind the counter recommended ordering a cake to pick up. I was amazed that was possible since it was late in the afternoon and I needed it first thing in the morning. I was able to customized the cake to my liking and pick up the next morning. In addition, the bakery called me twice to make sure it was to my liking before making it. The kind, patient customer service and fantastic cake makes it a winner in my book! The prices are great also!...

Interesting ordeal; It was my Grandmother’s 95th birthday recently and my family lives in the area, so we thought it’d be perfect to buy a quick birthday cake for the event. After ordering the pastry earlier in the day, I went back to pick it up and was APPALLED by the handwriting on the top of it. It was simply meant to read “Happy Birthday!” But it was completely illegible! I was very disappointed, but Grandma didn’t care that much, since she is in fact senile and forgot it was her birthday anyway. Regardless, the cake was delicious and deserves the rating, but the girl writing on these cakes needs to reevaluate her...

Got some mini desserts to try and it pains me to write a negative review but none of the items were good…

We got the rum cake, the eclair, Oreo cheesecake and the all pineapple cake

Cream was rock solid not fluffy, everything was too sweet, there’s no cheese flavor in the cheesecake.

The only positive I would say are that the prices are cheap ($6 for 4 mini pastries) and the workers are nice. Management needs to do a revamp, limit the menu and actually taste the pastries! Some reviews mention sale of older items and I believe that given how large a selection they have but how few...
