Awesome new Korean restaurant serving warm dishes perfect for winter and late nights (or early mornings)! The interior design makes the dining space feel very classy. Music is not too loud so perfect for business lunch or dinner. Service is great and the staff is very attentive.
Of particular note, the fried mushroom dish (which I think is traditionally made with pork but they're offering a healthier alternative here) was surprisingly good- texture on the mushroom was very good and crunchy that held up well against the sauce.
Soy Garlic bossam (pork belly) was hands down the best anyone in our party has had in a long time. Fat was rendered perfectly that it completely melted in your mouth. Flavor of the marinade was savory and sweet and paired great with all the other dishes we had.
Pork soup (daeji gukbap) appeared to be very authentic and doesn't skimp on the traditional elements (different parts of the pig that some other restaurants shy away from). The broth was rich and flavorful and you can tell this is "soul food".
Beef bone soup was also very rich and flavorful and filled with tendon and cartilage (whereas many other restaurants will use cheaper cuts as filler).
Kimchi had the right amount of spice and a healthy tang to it too. It tasted fresh and not overly marinated.
Highly recommend and will return to try the...
Read more5 stars to 2. For last 3 visits, I have to change my rating on this spot. It's mostly caused by staffs and side dishes. Specially they MUST take care of Kimchi which was not in normal rage. In addition, staffs are kind, but not professional in my opinion. As I saw the rate keeps going down for last 5 months, the number of empty tables have been increase in the restaurant. Every month I saw less customers at the same day and same time of the week. I thought it was one of the best restaurant in Flushing, but it actually under par service and quality restaurant in my opinion. However, still the main dishes seems OK with competitive prices in the clean environment.
OG review on April, 2025 Very nice and neat Korean restaurant. Staffs are kind with smile. Prices are competitive. Serving speed was OK. If Kimchi was a bit better, I would give it 6-stars. Parking was easy on the street. Restroom was clean as well. So far, I can say it's the best Korean restaurant...
Read moreA new 해장국 restaurant. The interior design is very cafe-like and MZ friendly.
We had the Beef Bone haejangguk and Sunjee haejangguk. They highly recommended the mushroom tangsooyook (sweet and sour fried mushroom) so I got that as well. They all tasted good (separately) but the tangsooyook and haejangguk is not a good combination. If getting haejangguk, stick to the tried and true combination of soondae or sooyook or other savory meat dishes.
Because it’s their grand opening week, the service was very disjointed but everyone was nice. I will try them again in a couple of months.
I’ll try their gamjatang and soondae next time.
Forgot to take pictures but their side dishes were very limited and nothing to munch on while you’re waiting for your soup or main dish. They also brought out all the wrong side dishes — that had nothing to do with the soup. Hope they improve their service operation in the upcoming weeks.
Overall, I was happy with the food....
