Henrica's — Restaurant in New York

I gave Henrica's a 2-star rating because the food is good. It is not to die for but it is ok and not worth the stress and the wait that you must go through to receive it. I recently ordered take out from Henrica's and waited almost 1 hour for my food to be ready. I understand that the food is made to order but anything over a 20-minute wait for take out or dine in is too long. If I wanted to wait for 1 hr for my food, I would have cooked it myself. Henrica's really needs to work out a better system where they can fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.

When I ordered my food I looked up a menu online to pick my items. Unfortunately, the food was a lot more than the menu advertised. When I realized the price difference, I immediately called back to change the size portions of my order. I was told that although only 10 seconds had passed since I placed my order that it could not be changed without the approval of a supervisor and that there was no supervisor around. This was frustrating but I decided to just keep my order as is because I was hungry. When I arrived at Henrica's I noticed a series of vehicles double parked outside of the restaurant (this is common but also a warning). I waited in my car a while to see if anyone was going to come back to their car with food but this did not happen. Once inside I asked if my order was ready (it was not) and decided to hold off on paying until the food was ready. Another customer was waiting for her food and was starting to get impatient (she had been waiting for 30 minutes). Eventually, the customer got tired of waiting and asked for her money back, she was IGNORED by the cashier. She asked her again and the woman told her that she was on the phone and only 1 person. The customer has only ordered a shrimp fried rice and felt that it was unfair to have to wait so long for such a small order. The cashier then told her that "This is not Chinese Food. This is made to order."

The cashier at Henrica's was so RUDE and indifferent to customer service. I have eaten at Henrica's before and have found the wait staff to be pleasant but the take outside is the Wild Wild West. No customer service, no care and I cannot be bothered by the lack of...

The service was VERY POOR. There was only one couple in the restaurant before us and patrons that came after us got served before us. The worst part was I ordered a margarita and it tasted like salt was poured in it. I got no straw with my drink and had to ask. The waitress brought it with her hand, it was not wrapped. After asking for a Virgin strawberry Dockery I got a fruit punch. I told them it's fine I will take the punch. We ordered two plain steamed snapper no vegetables with bammy, ribbs with Mac and cheese broccoli and festival. And spicy shrimp with plantain. After waiting 50 minutes while seeing people that came after us eating, I enquired about our food. I was told that they had a lot off takeout orders and that fish is made to order...(steamed fish). After waiting alittle longer, the ribs order came alone. Awhile later the shrimp order came...still waiting on the two PLAIN fish order. When the fish finally came they were fully loaded fish. All the veggies that was not suppose to be there. At this point I had enough. So as my waitress asked how everything was going I asked what happened? She said the plain fish comes with veggies. In all my life I didn't know that plain didn't mean plain and if that is so; shouldn't she say so...smh. My dad did not want the veggies because it makes his allergy acts up. The festival never came. I was brought a complimentary strawberry Dockery with extra rum...and the fruit punch was taken off my bill. This place need to wheel and come again. Are you telling me the customers in the restaurant are not important!! VERY DISAPPOINTED HENRICA...

The food is decent... but the reason I am giving it such a low rating is because of the staff that they have. The women and man who picks-up the phone to take orders are so obnoxious and full of themselves, they are seriously a nasty bunch of people, how they are employed beats me! You will be placed on hold for 10-minutes until you hang up and have to call back and then they take your order, they have a horrible way of answering you when your in the process of ordering like God forbid you ask a question about something on the menu they talk to you in such a manor like if your dumb! I never experienced such miserable individuals, even upon walking in that place the women did not greet me “Hello” just looked at me when I went to pick up my food. Please be prepared to also get hung up on after you order without saying “Goodbye” or “Thank You” they barely let you finish stating your order. The prices are never the same one day you are charged one price for the same thing you order the previous day for another price. Management and ownership really need to really re-evaluate the staff that is employed in Henrica’s because they are losing customer’s everyday with service like this, I know I stopped ordering from here because of these animal like employee’s!!

Too many great food places near here to put up with this type...
